Cozy atmosphere. Could take your drinks out on the porch or back to your room. Have lunch or dinner there.

Although I'm new to trip advisor, I've been going to Maggie's and the lake placid lodge for years and can say there is no place else like it. The relaxed atmosphere, the ambiance, the view, the food and best of all the barkeep Laurie are out of this world. The skirt steak is my favorite. If you sit at a table, you will be well cared for by any of the staff. Nina has been a real gem. If you sit at the bar, Laurie will make you feel right at home and will prepare amazing speciality drinks of her own invention. I can't say that I've ever been to a place or had service that is more gracious than at Maggie's. It captures the feel, rustic elegance and charm of the great camps. It is a must if you are in lake placid.

My wife and I wanted to give our friends a taste of rustic elegance, and Maggie's Pub turned out to be just the right place for it.
Don't miss the experience. They do not take reservations, but you are allowed to stroll the grounds if you end up having to wait for a table. Be sure to choose a good-weather day or evening.
We will be returning to this Adurondack gem as soon as possible.

This place is a gem! Beautiful setting -lots of outdoor dining with lovely adirondack views. The service is fabulous and the food is just delicious . Lots of vegetarian options and they also offer to go beyond the set menu to accommodate. Great list of wine and beer in addition to a full bar. While it's part of a lodge setting it is open to the public and as a local it is a spot I will return to again and again -it truly is a gem in every aspect!

We stopped for a very late (4pm) lunch after a day sightseeing and walking at St Paul's VIC. This little bar is just gorgeous, we're a long way from home and really enjoyed the decor and views on a drizzly afternoon and friendly wait staff. We enjoyed a bowl of chowder each and shared a chocolate cake dessert. Both were just the thing, quite delicious.
