“Nice but not more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

We happened to be there on a holiday weekend, and it was a mad house. There was no Maitre D' to be seen but we managed to get opening up bar seats and after that things went pretty well for us since we had the bartender right in front of us. She was actually a very hard working, unpretentious, professional bar woman who deserves a lot of credit for having a nice evening despite the craziness around us. Appetizer and main course sizes of the (well-priced) prix-fix were a joke, dessert was decent. Caesar salad very bland and very cold, pasta bolognese decent but probably not worth $22. All in all not really Relais & Chateau standard, but it may be different on a quiet night.

“The best $18 burger you can buy, and equally impressive ambiance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

If you have cash to burn and want the luxury adirondack experience, you will find it at the Lake Placid Lodge. Whether youre looking for more formal experience dining at Artisans or a laid back atmosphere at Maggies, you will find jt to be top notch. Highly recommended.

Dear Dwohl:

Thank you for your kind comments and personal recommendation regarding our dining outlets. We receive a number of comments on our burger. Especially combined with our house made bacon and ketchup has become one of my favorites as well! We hope to see you back again soon!

“Delightful meal.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

A very short drive from town but well worth it for the upscale setting and gorgeous view. Steve made many fine suggestions regarding the menu. The fixed price menu in mid-afternoon before our 3 hour drive home was a fine choice. Wine is a bit pricy at more than $10 a glass but selections are above average. Atmosphere is romantic. We will definitely return.

“A hidden gem ....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Not an easy place to find, but well worth the effort. Hidden within the Lake Placid Lodge off the beaten path is this very eclectic Adirondack pub. One of a kind artwork and furnishing, with killer views of Lake Placid and Whiteface Mt. We stopped for lunch. Butternut Squash soup was heavenly as was the field green salad. Our waiter Steve was amazingly attentive. Since we were the last ones left in the pub, he took us on an amazing tour of the lodge, restaurant, wine cellar; he told us the stories behind many of the furnishing and artwork and the history of the lodge itself. A very enjoyable afternoon. Even if you don't get the "Steve tour," this is a wonderful place to stop for a good meal, incredible atmosphere and views.
