We frequent Maggie's several times a month as a getaway from the usual crowds on Main Street. The menu is modest in size and there's normally at least one special entree each evening. You can also order off of the dinner menu from Artisans - just ask your server for that menu. This is a premium priced establishment and do not be surprised by any of the prices on the menu.

If possible, grab a table outside (there are heaters for those cool evenings) and enjoy the view of Lake Placid. Cocktails are mixed by Lori who can make just about any adult beverage that you can imagine. She always has something fresh available each day and I'd suggest sitting at the bar if you're waiting for your table sit and watch her work her magic.

We recently experienced a downdraft in the quality of service at a dinner seating when the Pub was almost empty. It took an extraordinary long time for the waiter to take our drink order, we had to request a basket of bread since our meal was taking so long and our hot soup was cold when it finally arrived. This may be a symptom of "Summer Helpitis" but, it is inexcusably for a property of this quality.

Went to Maggie's after reading solid reviews. Found the menu to be small but well thought out. Ordered one 3 course tasting menu at $34 (good value!) and everything was tasty and fresh. husband ordered off the menu. Only rediculously priced item was the $8 pot of tea. Hot water plus a tea bag should not cost more than the beer. Would return for sure but no tea!

Beautiful, brightly-decorated pub in the Lake Placid Lodge. Food is excellent (from same award-winning kitchen, Artisan's), Lori the famed mixologost is always up for mixing unique, custom drinks, and the people are just fun. Love it.

Bad start -no parking available so we parked across the street (later, we crossed the same street int he dark of the night) We arrived, spoke to a waitress, chose a table - and she said she would clean it for us. While we waited, another couple sat at the table and claimed it (it is, I understand, first come, first served). Our waitress said "oh well" , I should have told you to sit there.

During the meal, no fork was on table for a course, water was never refilled, was not asked if was wanted coffee, tea, etc until after dessert was finished.

Felt like the staff was rushed and perhaps overworked.

We had the prix fixe dinners, with appetizers (pea soup and tomato risotto, mains of boullabaise and an interesting dessert that they called blood orange and cocoa syllabub. All were tasty and well-prepared.

If you want an awesome view of Lake Placid, go check this place out. If you are hungry, be careful what you order. Burgers and fries are good for portion size, pasta dishes will leave you hungry!
