My room was larger than the size of a small NYC condo. Stylishly furnished and really comfortable bed. The Haus is located along the main street near the movie theater right in downtown Lake Placid. My only complaint was the pizza / cafe which was right above my room ( #9 ). I could hear people walking back and forth constantly during the day and into the evening because of the creakly floorboards. Fortunately It closes at 10 pm. It was quiet other than that. So if your out during the day and for dinner it won't bother you. I'm guessing its not every room that's like this. I wish they would have warned me.

Room Tip: avoid room # 9 below the pizza / cafe

Dear Guest,

It was a pleasure hosting you this weekend past. We do hope you will consider us again. Apt #9 is our favorite for friends and relatives as it is the most cost effective apartment we offer and has such a spacious feel about it. This is the first time someone has mentioned the foot traffic above as this is actually noted in the room description and may only occur during from afternoon to evening when most people are away or awake and then only over the entry/kitchenette area of the efficiency. We are happy to offer you some sort of discount or upgrade if possible should you wish to book with us again during the off-season.

Stayed at this boutique hotel for one night and loved it! Our room opened up to Mirror Lake and was very nice. Staff very helpful and allowed us to check in early. Great center town location. Close to great restaurants (Smoke Signals, Milano), great shopping and nightlife in town. We caught a great band at Smoke Signals the night we were there. Very spacious comfortable rooms. Complimentary Aveda products which I love. We will definitely be staying here again!

I stayed at The Haus with my mother and siister for a girls weekend. The Haus was perfect for us, Room #2. Great location right in the center of town. Walk to everything...restaurants, shopping and fun! The Haus was clean and everyone was very friendly. The room decor is modern clean and 100% IKEA catelog. I would highly recomment the Haus to anyone for an alteturnative to your everyday hotel. I will be going back!!!

The Haus is a great option if you want more than just a hotel room. There was plenty of room for the four of us in a two bedroom suite. Accommodations were exactly as on the website. Arrived late Friday evening and everything was exactly as had been communicated so we were in our suite, unpacking and at a local bar having a nightcap within 20 minutes of arriving in Lake Placid. Location is great for après ski activities, and easy drive to ski resort.

Room Tip: Our room fronted on to Main Street and we had no issue with street noise in either bedroom. If retur...

The Haus is a beautiful, boutique type hotel! We stayed in Suite 7 which overlooks Lake Mirror. The suite was so spacious, extremely clean and wonderfully decorated. We felt like home with the fully equipped kitchen, gas fireplace and high quality bedding. The hotel is very quiet despite being downtown. We walked out on the lake to watch skaters, dog sledding and nordic skiers enjoying the magic of the lake. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: Suite 7 overlooks Lake Mirror and has a great deck with seating.

Having done a decent amount of research on places to stay in Lake Placid, most of the hotels and resorts in the area offer a lodge type look and feel. The Haus provides a welcome alternative and a breath of fresh air to the offerings in Lake Placid.

The location is excellent. You are right on Main Street and there are many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. The rooms are well appointed, spacious and modern. If you love the Ikea catalog, you'll love this place! The kitchen has all the amenities you would like if you are in the mood to cook. We found that many places in the area aren't open very early for breakfast. The earliest we found was 7AM, therefore breakfast in the room was perfect. The bathroom was nicely done, very clean contemporary feel. Ours had a jetted rub which the Mrs used every night. Linens are supplied and are above your average Courtyard quality.

There are no real detractors for the Haus. Parking might be the only, VERY, minor one. There is no onsite parking. You will be issued a parking permit to park at the Municipal lot which is a 2 minute walk from the front door. Frankly, I loved putting the car away for the night and being able to walk everywhere. The location is totally worth it.

As they are an eco-conscious establishment, housekeeping is on request. The few times we had it, they did a great job.

Overall, if we come back to Lake Placid, we will not be staying anywhere else.

A very well kept, clean, & nicely decorated apt. We felt very comfortable in our time here. We enjoyed the view of Mirror Lake, the nice park next door, & the main street there, from Suite 8. Located right downtown, there was no hustle bustle. From our apt., there was hardly any street noise at all. Lake Placid seemed laid back & cozy. Parking is a little wierd, but necessary in that location. It was not a great hassle. The location of Lake Placid was a great starting point each day for all of the things to see in the area. It was very nice, we enjoyed it much here.

Room Tip: As stated, we enjoyed Suite 8. Top floor on the corner was sweet.
