I really like these trails, especially the views of the lake on the west side. In the summer months you can swim at a view spots off the trails. Also great for snowshoeing in the winter.

You will be blown away at the views of scenic LP from here. Easy access from behind the Howard Johnson. Well traveled, flat and easy to find your way in the woods to the dam

Tucked behind hotels in a residential area, this little state-owned outcropping makes for a nice walk one afternoon after you spent the morning climbing one of the summits. The trails are well-marked in most places (the intersection of Boundary Trail/Jackrabbit/Local Outpost trail near the dam is a little weak and might cause some confusion, but there is no way to get lost.) Great for dogs and kids - lots of roots, but few rocks and soft underbrush. Beautiful trees and views of Lake Placid. We walked from the Crowne Plaza through some local neighborhoods and the round trip from the hotel, to the Peninsula, around all the trails there, and back was around 6 miles or so.

Beautiful, flat short strolls when you just want to stretch your legs and don't have time for a long hike. Make sure to go all the way to the dam. It is beautiful all around. Can be connected with the long 'Jack Rabbit' Ski trail in winter. Walk from the parking lot (behind howard johnsons and up a smooth dirt road for ~1 mile) to the dam takes about 20 minutes or so. Various loops possible. Explore and enjoy.

It was an easy walk, but not really that great (unless we missed something).
