Owner description: Wilderness beauty. Adirondack history. Serenity. Cruise the pristine waters of Lake Placid in one of our enclosed pontoon boats. The hour-long, narrated tour travels 16 miles on one of the world's most beautiful lakes. See and hear about the stately manors situated along the shore, Adirondack wildlife, and Whiteface Mountain, site of the alpine events during the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. A Lake Placid boat tour is a must for all visitors to the Adirondacks. Rain or shine, it is truly a delightful experience.

We spent a fine hour onboard this boat as it completed its circuit of Lake Placid. The boats (there are two of them) are comfortable and easy to board, although you need to USE THE BATHROOM BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE PIER, as there are no facilities onboard the boats.

The boats make a circuitous route around the islands of the lake, while the tour guide describes the various Adirondack "camps" that line the waterline, along with their history and the names of the often-famous owners. It really is an interesting view of the areas that most tourists never get to see. (Many people believe that the lake they see behind Main Street in the town is Lake Placid...never realizing that it is actually Mirror Lake.

The price for this cruise is quite reasonable, (I think it was in the $25-30 range), with discounts for younger kids and free fro under age 3. This was money well-spent, especially if you are tired of walking or it is raining outside. Parking is available at the marina...which is nice in Lake Placid! I would recommend going on this tour.

Very pleasant boat tour of the Lake. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was interesting hearing about the history of the different lodges that surround the lake. And the scenery is just beautiful. It's not expensive and is worth the ride. Only an hour so if feels like it's over too quick.

We took the hour long Boat Cruise of Lake Placid on our recent trip to Lake Placid. The weather was cool, but the tour guide was very knowledgeable and presented the stories of the many huge and beautiful cottages with history and humour. It was very exciting to my two Great Grandchildren who accompanied us on our trip. All in all, it was a happy experience.

We took the boat cruise that was an hour long. It was interesting learning the history of lake placid. Our boat guide was very good and also a comedian, it made the ride a lot better. It's a must...the houses and scenery is amazing. Thank you for a great time.
