We decided to hit the Cottage based on our Condo's recommendation and we weren't disappointed. We nestled up by the little fireplace and had a great open-face sandwich and pile of personal nachos. It was a great little down-home pub with a lot of character and a comfort food with a twist menu. Instead of an roast beef sandwich, it was an open face roast beef with horse radish mayonaise and melted brie cheese on the top. My wife's nachos were very fresh, excellent jalapenos, and fresh salsa and real cheese. Although the lake was frozen over, we had a unique little view of a make-shift ice rink and hockey lay-out. Definitely worth a trip for a reasonable bite to eat with just enough uniqueness.

My boyfriend and I had passed this on our walk looking for dinner the night before, but decided to hold off until lunch the next day so we could enjoy the view. And we were lucky we did! The weather the next day was absolutely beautiful, so we were able to sit outside on the deck in the sun and near the gas heaters. What a beautiful view of the lake! Must be heaven in the summer. FYI, it was a little after 2PM and there was a wait to sit inside, so if you're looking for indoor seating be warned that it is small inside, and you may be in for a wait.

We ordered the cheese board, which was excellent and not skimpy! He had the open-faced roast beef melt, with melted Brie on top, and it was fantastic! I had the chicken salad sandwich, which had lovely almonds and apricots within, and the bread was perfect as well. All in all a very pleasant and affordable experience on the waterfront!

We've been here three times within the past four years and it's always been a good call. It can get very crowded during the summer on the weekends, especially if you want to sit outside on the deck. Kid friendly.

It's right on Mirror Lake and it has great mountain views. Very good wine and beer list. Although the food menu is limited, everything we've had is very good. A definite step above typical bar food and a very pleasant place.

We arrived for an early dinner - the view is great - nice quaint bar/resto. The menu was somewhat limited - sandwiches, nachos, hamburgers. The service was fair and pleasant - the food quality left a bit to be desired. I had a roast beef sandwich and the meat was overcooked and lukewarm, the bread dried out - not what a good beef dip should be. Nachos were OK - hard to get these wrong. Given their association with the Mirror Lake Inn - they should have a top shelf menu and food quality.

outstanding views, excellent service with a
simple and functional menu, something for everyone.
not abt to have noisey families as customers
(this place is at the far end of mirror lake), so you really
need to know about it.
customers tend to be locals and knowledgeable
repeat lake placid tourists or curious vacationers
from the mirror lake inn above. i've been
coming to this place for over 15yrs and never
had a bad meal or unpleasant experience.
i make a point to stop in atleast once to relax
and get something to eat here during my visits
to the lake placid area.
