“very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2014

Moderately priced entry-fee, great memorabilia, you can watch almost the entire Miracle on Ice hockey game. Loved all of the posters from all of the Winter Olympics games. A nice activity to end several days of fun in Lake Placid.

“If interested in history from this time, take a quick trip through”

A very small museum, and a bit dated, but if you are on your way to see the "Miracle" rink, take a quick look through.

“Interesting history of Lake Placid Olympics”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

Cool place to visit and learn about the Olympic history of the area.
The artifacts are neat to see as well. Young or old, there is enough there to entertain you. Some interactive displays, interesting video presentations, and plenty of memorabilia from both the 1980 and 1932 Lake Placid Olympics as well as many others, including Vancouver, Calgary, Turin, and Nagano.

“Surprisingly good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

It has an almost apologetic entrance in a not-exactly-prominent location, but once you step inside it is chock full of displays and memorabilia from the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, as well as other Games. Perhaps I am rating this highly because of low expectations, but it really is an impressive place if you like the winter Olympics Games. Everything is up close for easy inspection and I found it fascinating to look at how primitive a lot of the equipment was by today's standards. The gentleman working museum on both our visits knew his stuff and his happy to answer any questions. Highly recommended.

“I went for the skating on the Olympic Oval - bring your own skates, their's are brutal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

How often can you say you went skating on an Olympic oval? Great ice, and the oval was longer than I expected. It was outside, and the conditions were great.

I would suggest you either bring your own skates or rent somewhere else. I paid $3 for some rentals and that was $2.99 too much. They were dull, very worn, and the toes were spray painted road hazard orange to "spruce them up". Painful too - they killed my feet after only 2 laps.
