I spend the day at the Olympic Ski Jump Complex and was amazed at how professional the staff treated the customers. It all started upon my arrival at the ticket booth where two ladies (Joann and Crystal) made my day by greeting me with a smile. I have not been to the ski jump complex in 30 years, and will take the family there next summer.

No words can describe how amazing this place is. You get to see the actual ski jumps used in the 1980 Olympics, and you get to ride to the top of it via an elevator and see what a ski jumper sees before they jump. It's definitely a sight not to miss.

If you can, try to go at 2:00 PM. That's when they have real ski jumpers practice. So you get to see them fly off the ski jump as they practice. It's definitely a sight not to miss .. especially since it's LIVE!

Call them ahead of time to find out what time the ski jumpers will be jumping ... when I went it was at 2:00 PM ... it is ABSOLUTELY amazing and something that you should NOT miss. Bring your camera!!!!

And it's all for only $10/adult. This includes the ski jump (ski lift and 1 elevator ride to top) and the freestyle aerial jump.

I went with my two boys (aged 8+10) when a rainy day kept us from skiing the nearby Whiteface Mountain. It was a grey dreary day and there were no ski jumpers practicing to provide any visual drama.

You need to take a chair lift up the hill (helpful staff) then a lift up the towers. There was certainly a good view and from the observation deck you can see miles around and get a good sense of the bravery needed to partake in this sport. Inside the tower there were some photos and newspaper cuttings, but for me this was disappointing and a wasted opportunity. It just appeared to be a haphazard collection of clippings without any proper order. The inside also looked shabby and neglected. With modest investment this part of the tour could be a fabulous memoir to the events that have taken place and really polished of a very good attraction.

The past athletes and olympic memory deserve more. Granted this is not a museum but is seemed a wasted opportunity to provide some polish on an otherwise impressive setup.

What a great opportunity! We were able to visit on a Saturday and were lucky enough to catch some ski jumpers in training! Though there was no snow, they use water and padding to recreate conditions and it is just like the real thing in snow! It was amazing to be able to see these incredible athletics up close and personal. Even without the show, we would have been happy to have made the trip. The views and the experience are very impressive, and it is a very well spent $10. Definitely bring the family!

I had a family reunion in Aug 08 in upstate new your (Plattsberg) where my grandmother lives and some of my family members decided to go visit lake placid where the winter olympics were held in the 80's. We bought a passport for about $30 each which let you see all the attractions one time.

The ski jump was awsome you started out by taking a chairlift to the bottom of the ski jump which there was a cool place to look out at the mountains and take some great pictures. Then you went up a elevator to the top of the ski jump not a place for someone who does't like hights :) You could go outside and look straight down the jump very cool. We tool some great pictures here also. They had some pictures of the athletes inside the room at the top of the elevator. I forgot to mention when you get to the top of the chairlift there is a olympic platform with 1st 2nd and 3rd place that you can stand on with all the flags above.

At the bottom there is a pool where the athletes can pratice there long jump off a ramp and into the pool. Fun to watch them. there is also a place to get something to eat there and some teeshirts and stuff like that.

Very cool place to visit would def recomend it if you are ever in the area!
