I especially liked the location on the edge of the oasis - by the way it is good fun to explore it. The owner gave me detailed instructions how to reach the Todra Gorge on foot through palm grooves, fields, abandoned kasbahs – this is a great plan for a relaxed afternoon walk. Besides, the owner is a really friendly guy to chat with. Rooms are comfy, breakfast is ok, wifi is good.

We staid in this Guest house for our visit to the Todra Gorge. We arrived later at night after a long drive from Marrakesh. Our hosts were waiting for us at the road and helped carrying our luggage down the steps to the house. Despite the late hour we did get a meal.
With regards to the food, we have some mixed experiences. While food was normally good, it was also the first time in Morocco that we got sick.
The Guest house location is very beautifully, close to the palm tree gardens. The rooms and facilities are very basic.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Just be aware that the hike in the mountains will lead you to a Berber family for tea and food and later on will end in one of the carpet selling places. Also note that this hike will turn up on your bill afterwards.

We stayed here for one night with our two children (5 and 10.) The rooms are basic but really clean and comfortable. Has a great roof terrace with beautiful views and lovely dining room. The owners were really friendly and the kids loved meeting donkey Jack. Quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our time here.

Wonderful reception and tea on the terrace overlooking the Palmeraie

This is decorated in Berber style complete with Berber tent on the terrace

The dinner was the best we've had so far! Breakfast also

The room was clean and even though there are many steps to go down from road, the brothers that run the guest house helped with carrying the bags

We left our rental car up on the road and felt safe about it

We enjoyed a walk in the Palmeraie in the AM with many bird sounds everywhere

The road to the Gorge is being widened and going is slow and very dusty

After seeing the great reviews of this guesthouse, we sent off an email however when it wasn't answered we found a pay phone and made a call which we do not usually bother doing but glad we did ... Rashid answered, spoke perfect English and quoted us a great rate for half board as we wanted to stay 3 nights.
Rashid met us at the bus stop in Tinerhir and drove us to his guesthouse stopping along the way so we could take photos at the great viewpoints.
We were given a lovely large room with ensuite and then offered tea on the upstairs terrace.
Jawad cooked us superb dinners in the gorgeous berber saloon room, it is the only place we did half board and we are glad we did as the food was delicous and plentiful. Warming soups, huge brochettes and tajines just some of the great food we sampled. Breakfast was upstairs on the terrace overlooking the palms. We were regularly given mint tea at all times of day.
We met Doreen who re-located here many years ago and clearly loves the area and people and in particular her new donkey Jack (feel bad he had to carry our heavy bags up on our departure). When she realised we are avid readers we had a great chat comparing authors, swapped some novels and then she even gave us extras from her personal collection!
On our last day Rashid had me come and share their lunch with them.
We did some awesome walks - one to the gorge itself (6-7km each way) through amazing local farms and the palms via an ancient kasbah and a similar one to the main town as well.
Our room was comfortable and large. The shower was hot in the evening. It did tend to flood which was a mild inconvenience. Also, wi-fi was patchy but not a big deal when in a beautiful natural setting.
I am surprised by a couple of negative reviews that seem quite personal, we were treated well. We noticed some guests were a little inconsiderate during our stay, eating their own food in the lounge and dining areas with their feet on tables and using the dining saloon to lie around in. This is not a hostel it is a guesthouse ie it is someones home so two way respect between guests and owners is vital.
Great choice, especially for those on a budget and who like peaceful retreats.

We are very happy we chose this Guesthouse. Service at all levels was outstanding and the staff was able to help us resolve a challenging situation. They gave us good advice on what to do in the area. We enjoyed the ambience of the setting. The food was some of the best we had on our trip and was very reasonably priced. Thanks to Doreen, Rashid, Jawad, Naldn and special thanks to Jack, the donkey, for carrying our bags to the car.
