Kasbah Les Roches
Reviewed August 28, 2012

This hotel/kasbah was probably the best one of my 12 days across Morocco.
The location is very nice (Todra Gorge) and inside the hotel looks very clean and it has a typical Maroccan style. I also had dinner and breakfast there and both were good.
The quality/price is very good, if you are able to negotiate the price!
I will suggest it!

This hotel is delightful, it is in the Troda Gorge which is an excellent place for going on walks, it is also near many wonderful places. The rooms are in good condition and the food is exceptionally good. The rooms are on the roof of the building and are located around a communal socializing zone, there is an even further up part which is good to look at the Gorge and the river below. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who is thinking about staying there as it is in a wonderful place in Morocco

Room Tip: Chose a river facing one for maximum pleasure

Stayed here as part of a group, and on arrival was smitten with the location - perched under a sheer rock face. We were lucky enough to have a river view - the rock ones were apparently rather bleak. The room was being redecorated, so was partially painted, and the nylon carpet was lifting in places - rather grubby and a bit of a hazard. The bathroom arrangement consisted of a shower abutting the loo, all behind the same curtain, and given that the loo leaked it was somewhat of a damp experience using either - although a large squeezy mop was provided! We were lucky enough to have a heater, although others in the party reported a calour gas contraption that had to be put out at night as it may leak. The main dining area was cold, and we huddled around 2 calor gas heaters. There was nowhere to sit pre dinner and take a drink or relax bar the dark and uninviting foyer. In any event no one came to offer us one. Dinner was average. Breakfast was served in a smaller and newer addition to the hotel - altogether more inviting, and with staff on hand who appeared interested and attentive. It was also warm. Nice location, but not great in winter and could do with better and cosier communal areas. The adjacent hotel was busy, we were by contrast the only group visiting

Room Tip: Ask for a river facing room, and if in winter one with a wall heaher

I stayed here with my husband and son as part of a Family Adventure Company tour. The room was pretty small and basic and the bathroom was pretty grim. There was no air conditioning and our window faced the rock. There were numerous changes in levels and low ceilings on the stairs which made it quite difficult not to trip or bang your head. The waiter gave us a menu but then told us he only wanted us to have soup - which was very good - but when we asked for something else he seemed a bit grumpy! The coffee was pretty poor and there was no alcohol. However, Todra Gorge was spectacular and well worth a visit.

Blech. This place sucked. I knew it was budget (we asked Blue Men to rework our itinerary to bring down costs) but it was truly bad, well, except the food. The room was freezing cold and didn’t have the normal electric heating element but rather a gas cylinder that had an element that had to be lit then turned off at bedtime and put outside the room. The whole hotel didn’t really have anyplace good or warm to sit in the evening. There wasn’t hot water until after 6 pm and then it wasn’t hot by any stretch of the imagination. Finally, the room was loud—we heard dogs howling in the gorge all night as if they were in the room with us. Like I said, the food was great, though, and the staff in the restaurant were helpful and nice. The location is really cute, too—right against the cliffs of the gorge and across the river.
