“cozy accomodations and fulfilling breakfast”
Reviewed February 17, 2010

This was our first time going to a B&B and we have decided that the Lamplight Inn will be held as our standard for future B&B's!! First of all, the inn is very clean, smells great, and is so cozy! I agree with everyone else, the breakfast is sooo good and fulfilling. My favorite was the room with all kinds of board games where they also have one of those single-serve coffee/tea maker for all hours of the day!

Great place to spend a quite, relaxful weekend. Cozy inn, beautifully decorated. The owners, our host, were the best part of the visit. Extremely courteous and friendly. They made the stay an experience that we will always remember. Add to that the cozy decor and you'll have an experience like no other. My girlfriend and I can't wait to go back again.
We arrived a bit late and were greeted by one the owners, Gene. He was very friendly and the very first thing he asked us was "Did you guys have dinner yet"? We had eaten dinner before we arrived so he led us to our room, the "Coral Room". And told us a little about the Inn and our room. After a brief tour, he bid us goodnight. After we settled into our room and came downstairs into the main room and met Linda, the other half of the wonderful owners. We stayed up late talking like we had known each other for ages, along with the other guests that were staying there also. One of the most restful night's sleep I have ever had. In the morning we were awaken by the smell of freshly brewed
coffee and country style breakfast. Breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly.
Definitely worth the cost. By the way, lots of hot water and good water pressure in the shower, if that's as important to you as it is to me. Looking forward to our next stay.

I returned to the Lamplight Inn for a fourth visit - this time as a business traveller - and found it to be as comfortable, hospitable and delicious as when I was with my wife for vacation the previous visits. Gene and Linda continue to provide warmth with attention to detail that make this Inn a perfect Adirondack destination for either work or play.

This was our second time staying at the lamplight and I'm happy to report it is just as good as it was 5 years ago. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotless. The Inn itself is very cozy and just sitting in the main living room is a pleasure. Back in 2004 we stayed in the Brook side cottage which was simply wonderful as it was almost like your own separate home about 500 feet from the main house. This time we spent a night in the main house and 3 nights in the Carriage house. I can safely say that both of us really enjoyed the Carriage house room which was spacious, clean and decorated beautifully. That is not to take away anything from the rooms in the main house. We stayed in the small room which was the only room available for that one night, but there are several large rooms there which are beautiful as well. It was so nice that after going further up north to Canada we decided to stop off there again before continuing home for one more night. You just can't talk about the Lamplight without mentioning Gene's breakfast. Fuggetaboutit, it's absolutely super stupendous, and you really can forget about eating lunch. It's not only delicious but also Huge. You can't finish it, and I can really eat. The grounds are immaculately kept and it's a pleasure to sit in the gardens surrounded by big old trees and flora. Linda is a sweetheart who really knows how to put together an inn and make it a special place. My wife and I are experienced world travelers and I can tell you that you will be hard pressed to find a nicer place in the Adirondacks, of which we have been to many over the years. It has the serendipity of being a stones throw from Lake Luzerne proper which is a wonderful picturesque lake that has a sandy beach and I will go so far as to say even better than just having a pool. Your only about 15 minutes from Lake George to boot. There is plenty to do in the general vicinity, a real Rodeo, horse back riding, white water rafting, fresh water fishing (bring your own rod, reel and tackle box) and good restaurants. There are many nice restaurants on Lake George with a view as well. There is also para sailing and steamboat tours on Lake George as well as hansom cab rides, miniature golf and even haunted house theme amusements if that's your thing. Really too much to mention here. However lets mention all the beautiful scenery everywhere, and Saratoga Racetrack about 30 minutes away from the Inn. If you are going to stay in the Adirondack mountains of New York State and want a romantic and restful stay, The Lamplight Inn is the place to be, period. I very highly recommend it without question.

I just returned from a 2 night stay at the Lamplighter. We booked two rooms and because the inn was quiet during our stay we received a complimentary upgrade for both rooms! The rooms (Lilac and Skylight) were both very large and lovely with large ensuite bathrooms, whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces. Very comfortable. The beds were nice and comfy as well! Breakfast in the morning was very tasty and plentiful. All around, the service was great and there was a lot of information available on the local area. They have a lot of games (including a great Scrabble set) available for evening or rainy day play. The rockers on the porch and the slider swing in the lovely garden were great. We are definitely considering a repeat visit! The location of the Inn is great--close to the craziness of Lake George (if you want it) and far enough away (if you don't want it!) Again, very fair and reasonable prices!

We stayed just one night in Lake Luzerne at the Lamplight Inn. Arriving late we were welcomed and shown around our room - a beautiful room with a rustic king sized bed, jacuzzi bath, private deck and of course, a good en suite bathroom. The owners were very hospitable.

Breakfast the next mornign was fantastic. A great choice of fruit, cereals, eggs and the blueberry pancakes were so light and fluffy. A huge breakfast meaning you can forgo lunch. Not the cheapest place to stay by any means, but worth the extra for a special weekend if you want a bit of Adirondack luxury.
