Lamplight Inn Bed and Breakfast

The Lamplight Inn is a very special place to spend time "away" from the hustle of life. The setting is charming and woodsy, walking distance to a pretty lake and park-like area and close enough to Saratoga Springs to make it an ideal get-away.
The living room is filled with wonderful antiques, the breakfast room is sunny and bright and very inviting, our room was very nice with a great, comfy king bed and there is a wrap-around porch that's great for afternoon coffee and a good book.
The best part of our stay was the gracious and welcoming hosts/innkeepers and the spectacular breakfast!
Just go - you'll love it.

We stopped here a week or so after Christmas and the house was still decked out for the holidays. It was beautiful! I've never seen so many decorations in my life!
Each room had a fireplace, which was a major plus, even though the building is well heated.
The bedrooms are comfortable, the whole house is spotlessly clean, there is free tea/coffee in the common area, and plenty of advice for things to do.
The breakfast is phenomenal! It was way too much food to finish in one sitting, but perfect if you are planning to load up before hitting the slopes.
I would definitely stay here again, especially around the holiday season!

We had a wonderful weekend getaway in a romantic room complete with an easy to use fireplace and a relaxing jacuzzi. Gene, Sally, and Jen were so welcoming and the food was delicious!!! Can't wait to go back again next year and the price is worth it!!

Room Tip: We always stay in the suites with the fireplace and jacuzzi tub.

I can't expand on what's already been said - it's charming, romantic, relaxing and reasonably secluded (in a good way). My fiance and I, who usually go out on the town when we travel - really enjoyed going to a nice dinner then just enjoying the double tub with a bottle of wine. I even sneaked in a soak by myself in the morning when he was in the shower - it was just so relaxing. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was friendly and attentive.

We stayed in the Saratoga Suite in the Carriage House over labour day weekend. My partner surprised me with this mini-vacation last-minute and I was absolutely floored over by the Lamplight Inn. We have stayed at many, many B&Bs, and I definitely would put the Lamplight in that special category of "the total package".

The innkeepers take so much attention to detail in everything they do. Large selection of teas, coffees available at all times. Breakfast is a la carte plus a mini buffet of fruits and cereals. Large selection of board games in the living room of the main house. A lovely "gift shop" (basically some beautiful antique cabinets filled with all kinds of interesting trinkets). Binders with menus for all the nearby restaurants and recommendations and reviews. In the Carriage House, a fridge in the main area to cool your wine or store leftovers, snacks and drinks available on the honour system, corkscrews waiting to be used...

Our room was incredible. First, it was gigantic. A king-sized bed, a sitting area, a gas fireplace and an immense two-person jacuzzi (we also had a regular shower-tub in our bathroom... just in case two people wanted to take baths separately??). It was charming yet luxurious and very romantic. Would definitely recommend it for those celebrating a special occasion (there are ice buckets in the room (and ice in the entrance of the Carriage House!) which we really appreciated being white wine drinkers).

The property is gorgeous, and is again impeccably maintained. Very easy to walk to the river for a leisurely stroll, or to the beach area for a swim in Lake Luzerne. We drove several times to the Lake George area which, although it's a lot of fun, is filled with overpriced, grungy accommodations. The Lamplight is a fantastic alternative: you stay in a charming B&B with fabulous innkeepers and fabulous breakfast, yet you can easily access the kitsch of Lake George. Next time we visit Lake George, we will be returning to stay here.

Room Tip: Saratoga Suite if you're looking for something romantic or to celebrate a special occasion! Fire...

We have stayed at the Lamplight Inn numerous times & it's always a great stay. Wonderful Innkeepers, clean rooms, nice area. It's also not far from the town of Lk. George. The homemade, full breakfasts are wonderful. It's a very relaxing stay & I would certainly recommend the Lamplight Inn to anyone.

Room Tip: the Carriage House rooms in the back of the Inn are large with a private bath, & jaccuzzi tub &a...
