What an amazing place to dine. The food was delicious. I had a Michael salad with juicy grilled chicken on top. Yummy! My husband had the classic Eggplant Parmesan, which he cleaned the plate of. He's a very picky eater.
Our waitress Jacqueline was very pleasant and the owner, Ginny Russell, showed us to our seats. It felt like she was welcoming us to her restaurant. Great customer service!
The place was indeed packed when we went, but that didn't affect the service in the slightest. We enjoyed the rustic atmosphere and felt it was warm and cozy. It was a chilly night, and they had the fire going.
For the poor reviews, I had to wonder if maybe there was a different restaurant they went to. The one my husband and I went to, Ciro's in Lake Luzerne, was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. I highly recommend this stop. Do not pass it on the road.

Been traveling up to the Lake George region for 15 years every summer. Most of the restaurants are below average in the entire area. Went to Ciro's this evening and had a very nice dinner and the service was outstanding. Everyone in my party of five enjoyed their food and the place had a folksy air about it. Seemed like mostly locals were there tonight which is a good sign as vacationers don't know any better and tend to end up at places in the village.

Do yourself a favor and drive past Ciros when you get to it. Don't stop, don't eat there. Stopped for dinner, the inside was dark as a cave, the outside porch was not well maintained and not clean. My first clue to leave should have been the duct tape used to tape down the carpet. Maybe it was the dented crock pot sitting on the old bedroom dresser that was on the porch. At least the table linens were clean. Wasps and mosquitos flying around inside also. Broken screens. Should have left then.

The service was passable, ordered the larger salads. When they arrived, it was apparent that they were kept in a too-cold refrig, were frozen on the bottom and soggy with dressing. The chicken in the salad was cold and not too fresh. The food was certainly not worth half what was paid for it.

Avoid this place at all costs. It is an embarrassment to other restaurants in the area. The decor is dated, run down and obviously coasting on the tourist trade. An obvious trap. Drive down to Papa's in Lake Luzerne and eat there. You will pay about the same for the meal, but it is clean, food freshly prepared and delicious, and has a nice view. You won't feel ripped off after leaving. This place doesn't have a clue.

We only ordered salads and an appetizer; all of which was decent. The eggplant fries were pretty good. Unfortunately the service was poor. There were only three servers working the restaurant, which wasn't unreasonable given the size, but there was no buser so the servers were forced to do all their own busing. The proprieter provided no assistance whatsoever to the clearly overwhelmed servers. Overall service suffered substanially as a result.

Excellent pizza and Italian food. Long time family favorite. Avoid during peak tourist season.
