“Splendid - A must do and see.”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

Liked - The slow travel to the island that give you time to appreciate the view, the birds diving into the sea to get their food, the birds on the island who are not afraid of people, the food prepared by the hotel for us to picnic there, the people working on the island who give clear explanations, the sea and the beach.
Disliked - slowliness to go back to the main island

Rodrigue Island is a stress free island.People take time to enjoy there way of living. You wake up in the morning surrounded by birds singing.Taking a healthy breakfast with fresh lime juice and tropical fruits. For lunch the mouth watering of the curry of octopus, and a grill fresh fish with the fresh lemon rind. After lunch you take a boat to go on an ile au cocos there you can find a type of bird called YeYe.Then a good swim in the lagoon a sun bath.So go enjoy a lovely stay.

This small island is not far from Rodrigues coast and you can easily reach it by boat. There are many organized tours, you only have to ask. The boat takes about 1 hour to get there, as I remember, but not because it's far, only because the sea level is very low and there are a lot of corals. The whole distance from Rodrigues to Ile Cocos is a sort of reef. Once there you will have a tour of the island which is a nature reserve inhabited by a lot of birds! Then you will eat something and relax along the beach. It's truly amazing! The only negative feedback is related to the time you spend there: not so much, because you arrive at about 10-11 o'clock and at about 14 o'clock in the afternoon the reserve closes, so all the boats have to come back! (At least this is what happened when I went there, maybe now things have changed)
I leave you some pics, so you can realize how amazing this place is!
