Have stayed at this Hotel every time I've visited The Gambia, breakfast is good, all that you want plus fresh fruit that's in season. The rooms are comfortable (we usually have a 1bed apt) and spotlessly clean. The staff, especially the cleaners and porters, couldn't be more helpful, friendly and courteous if they tried. The amenities are great for singles and families alike and you very rarely had to reserve a sunbed. It's right on the beginning of "the Strip" with it's many choices of restaurants, entertainment and clubs. For me and my friends this is the only Hotel to stay in!!

Room Tip: Most second floor balconys get more sun.

Just had a great weeks holiday here, I really was not expecting it to be as good as it was, it is Africa after all. Our room was fine in block E down near the beach, I would not call it 4 star, more like your average Greek 3 star. However it was clean, always had hot water, and air conditioning included in price. Although we were on a B&B basis we never had breakfast at the hotel (too many Julbrews). Main pool and beach bar were lovely, difficult to get a sun lounger near the pool though, unless you were up early. Always sunbeds available on the beach though. Hotel grounds are lovely and vulture feeding is interesting.
The pizza's in the hotel pizzeria are fabulous.

Took several strolls along the beach and up to the monkey park, and did not really get much hassle, just the fruit juice sellers on the beach, but they were fine, and done great juices if you fancied one. As my wife said, we got more hassle in Tenerife.

Best located hotel for the strip, several decent restaurants / bars, we always felt safe when we were out, even at 2.00 am.

Had a lovely 10 night holiday, the rooms are basic but clean, lovely grounds and quiet, though not on valentines eve when the president held a fund raising party for over 200 people! Breakfast ok, for a country that has fresh fruit and veg they could offer more choice, overall good holiday even though you have to get up at dawn to reserve a sunbed!

I visited Senegambia beach hotel in November 2013 with my University as a research field trip.
The hotel was lovely, big and clean. The rooms were a little dated and dark but staff were very friendly and always happy to stop and chat.

Great location, next to the strip which has a wide variety of restaurant choices - definitely recommend African Queen and Swinging Monkeys!

The only issues I had with the strip was the line of 'bumsters' hanging around the entrance to the hotel, shouting across to women as it could be quite intimidating especially in small groups.

There is a lovely craft market at the top of the strip next to the main road that sell a big range of tradition jewelry and tailored clothes :)

Whilst enjoying some of the rare time we had to relax at the hotel, I slipped by the poolside and split my head open. Thankfully 4 or 5 members of staff came over immediately to help and took me to the local medical centre. The centre was so helpful and gave me xrays and stitches for around £6. Just a warning to people, especially people with children, be CAREFUL around the poolside as tiles are extremely slippery, I saw a few others fall too during my week stay.

Room Tip: Bring lots of tropical strength insect repellent available from Boots - I never got bit once!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in January. The room was basic but clean, fully functioning with shower, safe, air con, fan , fridge/freezer.
Towels clean most days and room cleaned almost every day by Alfa who was so efficient we hardly saw him. Our room was quiet, near the beach, sea view. The grounds are lovely , very well kept and maintained. The pools are clean, sometimes difficult to get a sun bed with a sunshade as many people pay the pool boys to reserve a bed for them with the towel and then selfishly don't bother to turn up and use it!
The food choices at breakfast were very good , many things cooked fresh to order like boiled eggs, pancakes etc.
altogether a lovely hotel in a very good position
The only thing that spoils it are the idiot tourists who ignore the. "Do not feed the monkeys" sign and then complain when they get bit! Or feed the monkey's sugar lumps (it's cruel ) or after feeding the monkeys while sat on Thier loungers one day, through shoes at the monkeys the next day to get rid of them !!!
Please take some sense with you and think about the consequences of your stupidity !

This is a 3star Hotel in The Gambia and as such it is excellent, anybody expecting European 4 star will be disappointed !! We had a super 2 week holiday, the hotel staff were helpful courteous and always smiling which does make the difference. The repeated ( all be it brief) power cuts did play havoc with our room safe and the air con in the room, for the air con we just had to switch on with the remote and for the safe the safe guy and security guy came and reset with in 15 minutes of us asking. So nothing to take away from our enjoyment and on the positive side, breakfasts were good as usual with plenty of choice, drinks at the bars were fine if more expensive than outside the hotel, I recommend the ice coffee smothee from the beach bar.
