“Great local restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2013

We went there with our guide and had fasting food (i.e. veg platter) that we all shared and it was a great experience. Food was super healthy, super tasty and the owner (Cisco is here nickname) is just simply adorable!!! She prepared a coffee ceremony for us as well and coffee was amazing (she adds some king of minty leaf into it). Do not hesitate even if it does not look like much from the outside!

“Great view of Sao Paulo, with good drinks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2013

Great place to enjoy the view of Sao Paulo. Ht roofterrace of the hotel is the place to be, grab a drink and enjoy time, especially during sunset or night ours.

Price is a bit high, but you are also paying for the view. Some nights it can get a bit "touristic', with a number of international executives around.

Must go.

“best chicken picata”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

what a nice place!
the owner is a nice lady which is a great cook- she even showed me the kitchen.
the food takes a while to get prepared but it is well worth waiting for it- just dont go if you are very hungry already:)- they prpare everything freshly and my chicken picata threw me off the chair!
best ethiopian coffee in town!
only the televison is annoying..but you can sit in the second room so you avoid that.

“Slow, but delicious and reasonably priced”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

The sign outside says "Recommended by Faranji" probably one of the cheaper eats in Lalibela, but quality of the food is very good. We actually saw more Faranji here than all of Addis and Bahir Dar put together! And its not big at all, quite 'local' if I can put it that way. Service was slow for us though.

“Off the beaten track. Great staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

I think this restaurant is literally someone's home. Food wasn't too shabby by first world standards and good by Ethiopian, and inexpensive. We were allowed into the kitchen to see the food being prepared and we were not disappointed. (freshly made) Vegetarian pizza was tasty. The local fasting dish perhaps not quite as flavoursome but certainly not bad. We liked the atmosphere (rustic) and friendly staff. You can do a lot worse in Ethiopia.
