Above average food in Lalibela. One of the best places in town to eat. The old Chef leave but the quality remains.

It has been nearly a week since my lunch at Seven Olives. I am back in Washington DC, halfway through my return trip from Ethiopia, and I am still dreaming of the Gomen Besiga and breathtaking view over Lalibela. The succulent cubes of tender lamb, mixed with spinach or kale came to our table sizzling and glistening with Ethiopoan butter. The flavored were complex and delicious, different from the many previous meals I had touring the northern part of the country. If you are anywhere near this part of the world, this is a place to go out of your way for.

This was the best meal. After a morning of travelling and a couple of churches, it was lovely to arrive here for a meal, sit in a cool spot on comfy chairs and admire the view.

I asked for a layered mix of fruit juices which was made pretty well. The food we had was very nice indeed. The only downside was one of the birds in the tree above dropping a couple of [--] on our table. The waitress we had was lovely.

I think most guides bring their punters here, but don't fight it! It's a very nice spot and not expensive.

This restaurant is beautifully located at the top of the hill in Lalibela. It offers spectacular views of the town and mountains below. The food was phenomenal! They give you very large portions, so you will definitely be full when you leave here. The service was great as well. I ate here during a 2 hour break when the Churches were closed, and surprisingly it was not busy at all. The offer traditional Ethiopian food and some seafood and italian dishes as well.
