This hotel was recommended to us by friends and we would heartily endorse the recommendation. The rooms were excellent and very tastefully decorated with local Lalibella themes including wood carvings on the bed and furnishings as well as Lalibella artwork on the light fittings. Bathroom did all it should do (not always the case in East African hotels).
In terms of service there was a mess up with our bookings from the hotels end. To their credit we got free drinks while the manager did some room shuffling to fit us in. We were most grateful as we had looked forward to staying at this place. Also the hotel organised airport transfers which is vital as the airport is 30 minutes plus away and down a drop of around 3000 feet or 1000 metres. The hotel also organised at short notice a guide and transportation for our tour of the stone churches which was most helpful.
The restaurant is very nicely designed and inviting. The only downside is pretty average food quality. If we were in Lalibella more than one night we would have looked for other options.
If you get a chance to visit Lalibella I'd choose this place to stay.More
