Our family stayed at the TIKI during a weekend trip Oct 10.
We were in Lake George to see the fall colors and we made last minute reservations. This hotel was a really nice place, we have never stayed at a Howard Johnson before (we usually stay at Westin, Sheraton, Hilton etc..) the staff at the supposedly luxury chains could learn a thing or to from the staff at the TIKI.

The front desk staff was incredible, friendly, nice and very helpful.
The hotel itself was extremely clean and well maintained.

My son forgot his blankey at the hotel and when we called 6 hours after checkout (we were on our way home), they found the blanket and overnighted it to us at their own expense!

Stayed at the Tiki HoJo one night. Check-in was fast. They let us go in before regular check-in time of 4PM. We were given room 402 on the second floor. If you have luggage - expect to carry up the flights yourself. The room had a damp smell to it. While people stayed that this place is clean I could see that dust was on table and TV stand. It was clear that no one did wipe it off. Later we learned that the cleaning staff were young male foreign students hired to work for the summer. Otherwise, the place was ok.
The outdoor pool was excellent. Water was clean, but refreshingly somewhat on the colder side. But it made my day. Very nice.
Indoor pool looked very small and dirty. We never tried.
Agree, for the price of over 100 dollars, one could expect a free breakfast. I think it is overpriced for the quality it offers.
The location is very good.
For the next trip I will try another place. If I fail to fine one, I guess I would stay again there as the last option.

After reading many reviews I decided to stay at the HoJo Tiki. The room itself was very small, but clean. We had the standard 2 dble beds room. The bathroom was super small. There is a sink outside the bath , which was convenient. The onsite dining was a plus for breakfast. If your on a budget the McDonalds is nearby . (within 1/4 mile) The outdoor pool was very nice and clean as well. The indoor pool should not be advertised until it is renovated. It is the size of a large bathtub ,but aside from that, it was dirty. When we put our feet in the water , it felt slimy. The front desk staff upon check in were not very friendly and it took 20 minutes to check in. (I was 2nd in line) The rest of the staff (maids, front desk etc..) throughout the week were very nice and accomodating. The location was good. It was a 10 minute walk to the Village of Lake George. This was great as the parking in the village was very difficult. Spent alot of time driving around for parking spots. The internet service was good. The fitness center was disappointing. I hoped it had a treadmill there and a TV to work out too. . Overall it was a positve stay and I would probably stay again if needed. It was near alot of attractions. The kids had alot od fun.

Tiki resort- Howard Johnson is basically a regular motel despite the "resort" in its name. There was nothing exceptional about the place you get what you pay for-which is a semi decent room that could use lots of touch up in furnishing. There is a damp smell to the room so you need to keep the AC on. Everything looks old if you stare long enough. Customer service was okay- again nothing exceptional. If you are doing a short weekend getaway and just need a place to sleep then this place will be okay. If you are expecting anything remotely extravagant then I suggest you go elsewhere. The outdoor pool was nice, a bit cold a first but you get adjusted to it. There were a lot of people enjoying their time by the pool. The indoor pool was very small and not that clean. Close to the major lake george village so that was nice. For the price, I would expect breakfeast to be included but it wasnt. But again, its practical for a place to sleep.

the place is a dump. it has that heavy dank smell that cheap hotels have. the paper thin towels were meant to discourage theft. the unheated outdoor pool was unreasonably cold. Not worth the price. I will say the restaurant was good for breakfast.

I realize we were staying in a very touristy area in the middle of the summer, but for over $150 a night I was hoping the rooms would slightly more special. They were very clean, but the overall look of our room facing the parking lot was one you would expect from a typcial motor lodge, there was zero Tiki anything. Other than that I would highly reccomend this hotel, the outside is very pretty, with cool Tiki statues and a nice reasonably priced cafe next to the lobby. All but one staff member was very pleasant, so all in all its a nice place to stay in the Lake George area.
