“Great Place to stay but Lake Goerge is Shut down for the Season!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012 via mobile

We were on our way back from a Vermont road trip to NJ and heard so much about Lake George we thought we'd stop off and spend a night with the kids. Wow! The town is like a ghost town. I don't understand why they advertise "come to Lake George durring the fall" and here it is mid October and they are shutdown? Anyway about the hotel...Great place! Clean, friendly staff, nice room, classy looking modern place, nice firepit, great indoor pool...what else can I say? Don't hesitate to book here durring season! Worth the money! My only complaint was their restaurant JR's I think it was called? Food quality was not great and it was pretty pricey! My wife got chicken parm with tons of sauce, barely melted mozzarella cheese on it and it tasted like a TV dinner. Better Italian at Olive Garden. My shrimp scampi had no taste! Beautiful looking restaurant but they need a new chef! Food was not good! Great hotel though!

We are glad that you stopped in on your way home. I also appreciate your comments regarding our community. Things do start slowing down a little bit, after Columbus Day.
I will also share your thoughts with our food team. We do normally get very good feedback about our restaurant, so I am sorry that your experience was not favorable.

We hope to see you again.

Went for long weekend Oct5-8 with wife and two kids. We had been to Lake George before but first time staying here. Super clean property and rooms. We had two queen beds in room. Only drawback was small bathroom.Restaurant and bar onsite, got a free welcome drink and we had a breakfast plan for the 3 days, kids under 12 eat free(2 and 9yr old yay!). Has outdoor pool+hot tub and indoor pool and sauna. There is also a cool fire pit (gas fireplace) outside and a park, bball court and telescope to look accross the lake in the front of the property. Also small games room and kids club for kids. All staff very friendly and accomodating. Right on the main strip in downtown Lake George. Reasonable rates compared to other properties. Would stay again!

Room Tip: We had an inside room on the main floor, but is was reasonably quiet. There are rooms that have balc...

This Holiday Inn has outdone itself. Not only is it beautiful but its super clean. It looked and felt more like a resort than a regular hotel. Staff was incredible as were the rooms. Never seen such spotless rooms. Attention to detail seems to be their strong point. The Pool was fabulous. Can't get much better than it was. would love to go back.

My husband and five children stayed at the Holiday Inn, Lake George for five days in August 2012. We researched a lot of hotels before we went and we are so glad that we chose the Holiday Inn. First of all, it is designed for families. There are so many activities for children (an indoor and outdoor pool, a staffed activity center, a putting green, life size chess, basketball court, shuffleboard and a fire pit lit every night). The location was perfect; we drove into town, but one could walk. To the left out of the hotel was downtown Lake George with restaurants, etc. To the right was a water park, mini golf and amusement parks and shopping. The view of the lake from the grounds was a little distant, but beautiful. Everything was clean and the rooms were modern and comfortable. My only complaint was breakfast. The service at breakfast was lacking and they should really hire more staff to remedy the problem. The dinner service and food was much better. But we complained and the hotel manager was very gracious in making up for the problem. One of the best things was that on certain nights they showed a movie on a giant outdoor screen by the pool. The kids could swim and watch; they loved that! We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: We did fine in a two queen room with a family of five.

This hotel, or better stated, resort, was a surprise. The hotel is situated up on a hill just on the outskirt of Lake George. The views were beautiful and a terrific family place with much for children and adults. Great onsite restaurant/bar with pool side service. We had a wonderful two nice stay and would love to come back.

the bar remodel, the dining room remodel, the never ending flow of free food for happy hour is just, wow what can i say! the outside fire pit, life size chess game, absolutely gorgeous swimming pool, view of the lake while sitting at the pool. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. I would recommend it to anybody and would feel very confident that they would not be disappointed.

Room Tip: lake view pool view

What a great experience! The staff in this hotel are fantastic. The bed in the king room was so comfortable we felt like we were home. The pool and firepit area were great. We also enjoyed seeing the fireworks over the lake while sitting around the fire. Thank you again to the staff for making our time here so enjoyable.

Thank you for your comments. Our firepit is awesome, and very popular all year. Our position on the hill make us a perfect spot to watch the fireworks. We hope to see you again.
