“Thanks for watching my Klondike bars Dan!!!”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

Looking to stay within our budget and remain within walking distance of most restaurants/shops in Lake George, we found the Lake George Inn. Basic but clean rooms. Free WI-FI, free morning coffee, functional TV and AC, and an outdoor heated pool which is cleaned every morning... can't really ask for more! Chairs and a small table are also set out on the porch for each of the guests just outside of their rooms, which we made use of as we sipped our AM coffee while the temperatures quickly climbed to the 90 mark by the time we were done. We also headed out and bought some Klondike bars at Price Chopper, but when we got back to the hotel, unfortunately the freezer section of our fridge wasn't working. Gratiously, Dan the owner apologized and offered to store my Klondike bars in his personal fridge (they live on the upper level). This was a nice gesture and was very much appreciated. Dan also gave us some really good tips for restaurants in the area. The only downside is that the hotel rooms are right across from the main road, and although it didn't bother me too much, I can see how traffic noise can be somewhat of an issue for light sleepers, as motocycles tend to pass through quite often. All in all a nice stay in Lake George, and a very good experience at the Lake George Inn. Thank you Dan for the restaurant tips, and for safeguarding our Klondikes! Hope to see you again on our next trip down to LG!

We stay here at least once a year, and would never stay anywhere else! The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and prices are very reasonable. Dan & Diane are the friendliest, nicest, most welcoming owners in Lake George!

If you want value with amenities, this is the place! Rooms are clean, tastefully decorated, and good value. Our hosts were Dan & Diane. They will you feel welcome and will try to bend over backwards to make sure your stay is pleasant. We ride to Lake George at least once a year and always stay at The Lake George Inn. Plenty of parking. Coffee available during the day. Friendly staff. Never a problem.

We stayed here during the Warrensburg garage sale weekend in October, and everything was very clean, and very well equiped for a 2 bedroom suite. We had a 1 year old with us and the owners had a pack n play available for use. The kitchen was stocked with everything from pots and pans to all the dishes needed to make a meal. There was even a wine opener in the drawers. The rooms are non-smoking, but there are patio chairs available outside for those who do. The prices are reasonable.

Went to Lake George for a quick overnight. Quoted very reasonable price. Was pleasantly surprised how clean and nice the rooms were. Not lakeside, but walking distance to restaurants, bars and beach. Owners were friendly and helpful. Loved their cute boxer!

We had a nice room and the price was right for a spur of the moment getaway. There's also a nice swimming pool. However, the doors going into the rooms are very much like those you find on Port-A-Potties -- When you go into the room and turn the deadbolt it says "Occupied" on the outside. When you leave the room and close the door behind you it announces the room is "Vacant". I found this to be a serious security issue because this announces to the public-at-large whether or not someone is in the room (and, if you're in the room and just close the door but don't throw the deadbolt it still says "Vacant" on the outside) and is very inviting to criminals who want to steal from hotel/motel rooms. I brought this issue to the attention of the management and they brushed it off saying "We've never had a problem yet." I asked what happens if someone tries to break in and they said "you need the key". However, if someone sees the room is Vacant they don't need the key because each room has 2 doors...the other is a sliding glass door that can easily be forced open or broken. When my wife and I left the room one morning we decided we didn't want housekeeping to come in so I put out the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the handle. Housekeeping saw the "VACANT" sign and disregarded the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign and entered our room regardless. We found the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the doorknob inside our room upon our return. Also, to anyone who might be afraid of dogs....the owners let their large bulldog roam the lobby off a leash. There's a sign as you go in saying "Don't bring pets into the office"....I suspect so that theirs won't entangle with yours. While this was otherwise a nice place to stay, and I would have rated this higher otherwise, I like to feel that I'm staying somewhere safe while on vacation.

First off, all of our rooms have solid metal doors with locking handles and deadbolts on the inside for added security. Only 6 rooms out of our 32 have sliding glass doors on the opposite wall and all of them have a locking mechanism. Those rooms are our most popular rooms on the property. When you leave the room for the day the door locks automatically like most motel rooms. We have a relatively small motel and as the owner and manager of the property I am on the premises pretty much 24/7 and constantly monitor the area. Our maids do not go in the rooms if you keep the "do not disturb" sign on the door. As for our dog, it is a Boxer not a Bulldog and is extremely friendly with all guests and have families that take pictures with her on a daily basis. If someone is scared of dogs we keep her behind the desk while they register. My wife and I have owned the property for three years now and have never had a complaint about security and safety on our property. If someone does have a legitimate concern about security we always take it seriously and will do whatever we can to accomodate our guests.

We recently stayed in a standard room over the 4th of July weekend and had a great time. The motel was exceptionally clean and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We definitely would reccomend this motel to anyone looking for a clean comfortable motel at a reasonable price.
