In all the years we have been coming to Lake George we have never seen the fireworks! We decided that this year we would see the fireworks and what better way to see them, but aboard a boat...The plan was originally to just take a fireworks cruise and not do a dinner a cruise. However, we ended up booking the dinner/fireworks cruise aboard the Adirondac.
The prices were average. I think that they should lower the cost of a childs ticket for the dinner cruises. $20.50 plus tax for a child ticket. (kids hardly eat anything) An adult ticket cost was $42.99 plus tax. This ticket price includes buffet dinner, dessert, coffee, tea and soda. What soda are they referring to? (See more below on that)
The boat opened for boarding at 7pm for depature at 7:30pm. They assign you tables when you board so you just don't get to sit anywhere you choose. One of the hostesses on board was very rude and nasty about this! They opened the buffet a few minutes after 7:30pm while we are still docked. They go table to table and tell you when you can get online. The buffet menu consisted of tossed salad, steam vegetables, roasted potatoes, eggplant rollatini, chicken codron bleu, tilapia, penne and sauce and sliced flank steak. They also had rolls and butter. The food was good, but the veggies were undercooked and the steak was overcooked. Each table had a pitcher of ice water along with plastic cups. Your ticket includes a glass of cranberry juice or lemonade!! They tear off the bottom so they know that you claimed your one drink. If you chose to refill it's $2 a cup. What happened to the soda?? There was none!! They should remove that from the advertising. That costs extra $. They do have a cash bar on board. (They really should cut passengers off that have consumed to much) There was a rowdy bunch on board. For dessert they have coffee and a few different types of cake along with some cookies.
Once dinner is done you can move to deck 2 which is the covered deck and deck 3 is the open air deck. That is also the smoking deck! We chose deck 3. The smoking didn't bother is though. The ride was smooth and the way out it wasn't chilly, but the way back to see the fireworks it was breezy and chilly. Dress appropriate for this trip! This is a casual dinner cruise. It amazed me as to what some where wearing. Really high heels and short short dresses??
The fireworks show was good, nothing spectacular. The boat literally stops right under where they are shooting them off from. Once they are over you are back to the dock within a few minutes.
The cruise was nice, but don't think we will ever do it again! Lack of service and some not so friendly workers on board!!
