“Very Nice Place to Stay”
Reviewed May 4, 2011

Virtually all of the reviews for this hotel are positive ones, and mine is as well.
We stayed in the Presidential Suite; there's a good description of it in the review by carmelo15 posted on this site. In fact, most of my review would just be an echo of carmelo's, so I'll just add a few thoughts in addition.
We found the staff to be extremely friendly. We had a very minor problem with a lamp, and when we called about it, someone appeared within a very few minutes to replace the lamp.
The hotel is located a couple of miles outside of the center of Lake George, which is good because it's away from all the noise and bustle of the downtown area. But it does mean that if you want to participate in everything that is there - all the restaurants, shops, and historic sites - then you have to deal with the parking situation. Parking can be scarce downtown during the busy seasons, and the ticket-writers are, in a word, relentless. But that's an issue with the town, not the hotel.
The hotel is located very close to the outlet stores. The outlets have been trashed in many previous reviews, but I didn't find them to be all that bad. They remind me a little of the Tanger outlets in North Conway, NH.
All in all, if you're planning a vacation in Lake George, the Comfort Suites would be a good hotel to choose.

Room Tip: The Presidential Suite was great!

We stayed here over Easter Weekend and had a wonderful stay. Upon the moment of walking in to check in to the end of the stay everything was perfect. We were greeted by 3 people at the front desk who were very professional and helped us check in quickly. The lobby is very nicely decorated and the grand staircase gives a nice touch. Our room was a good size, we didn't feel like we were staying in a shoe box all weekend. We had 3 children with us in our family alone, and it was important to have some space. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows are perfect. The pool with the water slide is a wonderful amenity at this hotel. I wish other hotels had a water slide. My middle child tired himself out each day from going on the water slide so many times. The pool on Sat did have a high level of chlorine and it did burn the eyes. We opened the windows and it was fine after that. The hotel was pretty much booked Fri night when we checked in. They had a staff member sitting in the pool area keeping an eye on things. I thought this was a nice touch with the amount of children in the pool area. On Sat morning they had a staff member sitting outside the breakfast area keeping track of how many guests were in the breakfast area. This was good so they did not go over occupancy limit. The cook your own waffles are great. Its nice to see a full breakfast in a hotel in the North. Usually you only find a full hot breakfast in hotels in the south, unless you pay extra.
The staff was all very attentive all weekend. Any time you walked by the front desk they would say hello and ask if you they could help you with anything. Housekeeping was wonderful. The rooms were very clean. The lady that worked the breakfast area was great keeping the food stocked.
Since we were staying in three rooms and were planning on having Easter Dinner with all the family from the area, the hotel allowed us to use the breakfast area Sun evening. It was wonderful to be able to spend time with the entire family on the holiday. Something we have not gotten to do in many years. The kids all had a wonderful time visiting and playing in the pool. Only complaint on the pool is that is was a little chilly. Found that if you went down the water slide first it gave you that first shock of cold quick enough to enjoy the pool.
Almost forgot to add, they have a wonderful playground outside. Its a large wooden structure with lots of slides and climbing things. Also they have a basketball court and an area with grills and picnic tables. The kids got to enjoy the playground the first day, and had a blast. Unfortunetly it rained most of the rest of the weekend so they did not get to play outside much.
We would definelty stay here again next time we are up visiting family. Great value for your money, very clean and great hotel staff.

Room Tip: rooms on 2nd floor have access from back parking

This 3-year old hotel is tastefully decorated and well kept. You wouldn't even be able to tell it was a 3 year old hotel. First the bad stuff - PLEASE turn up the heater for the pool water. Other reviewers have mentioned the coolness of the water temp, and still has not been addressed. While it's not cold nor warm it could use a few degree bumps in water temp, especially when its still 50 degrees outside.. Also, whats up with no towels in the pool area- have to get them from the front desk?? Not to mention the towels are the size bigger than hand towels! (can't wrap around yourself)

Second - This hotel is in a great spot, has a good look about it and clean. from the lobby to the room; you really can't complain. It looks like the owners too heart to the decorating theme of the hotel because colors, and other touches were well thought out. The pool area was very nicely down with the design of the pool and the use of landscape stone throughout. It truly blends in nicely to the Adirondack feel. Check in was easy as was check out -although I didn't really appreciate the phone cal at 11:15 asking me if I am leaving - that's a bit overdone, especially when the hotel isn't fully booked. (when it rang we were just opening the door to leave)

All in all, it was a good stay but Management (who are hardworking guys no doubt & care for their hotel) should address the pool water temperatures and get bigger towels) You have such a wonderful pool area that people should be more comfortable in the water and not shivering. Address that issue and I think your golden!

My husband and I were trying to find someplace special to take the kids without it being expensive. I thought about the Great Escape Hotel in Lake George but that was too expensive. My husband suggested just finding a place with an indoor swimming pool - just to give the kids a night away. So we looked on-line and found the Comfort Suites Hotel. We decided to check out the hotel, so my husband called to make we could still get a room. He spoke with Patty on the telephone. She was very friendly - she told us they still had rooms available. My husband told her we would see her in a few hours. When we arrived a few hours later, we told her that we would like a room and she asked if we were the ones she spoke to earlier. We said yes. It is a breathtaking lobby with a beautiful chandelier and a grand staircase. (I thought to myself it would make a great place for a wedding).

Here is what we found:
ROOM: The room was very spacious room and it was tastefully decorated. It had a "homey" feel to it. It had 2 Queen size beds, which were very comfortable - best we've ever had in a hotel. The beds had down comforters and 4 pillows per bed - not the usual 2. There was also sleeper sofa - the bedding for it was conveniently located in the closet - no need to call housekeeping for it like most other places. It had a microwave oven and a good size refrigerator in the room as well. The room had a 32" flat screen HD TV. The room was spotless - no dust any where. There was a closet in the room that also housed the flat iron, ironing board and the safe. The room was very quiet.

BATHROOM: The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The coffee maker was located on the bathroom sink. Everything was so neat and tidy.

BREAKFAST AREA: The breakfast room was large and comfortable. There was also a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. The food was fabulous. Our son really loved the idea of the make your own Belgian waffle station. He is a very picky eater and he loved it. It was the first time seeing that in a hotel - great idea!!! The food was hot - scrambled eggs and sausage. They also had pastries, english muffins, bread (for toast), yogurt, fruit and cereal. They had coffee, hot water, milk and juice. Great breakfast spread!

POOL AREA: It was indoors. The murals on the wall were great - they depicted the Lake George area! The pool was fabulous. It had a 50 foot slide with the water depth of about 4 feet. It was awesome. We loved it. Our 10 year old and 11 year old thought it was great because they didn't have to wait in line to get on it. They would go down the slide and swim around to the other side and race to see who could reach the 5 foot end of the pool. The slide was somewhat seperated from the other area of the pool - so if you weren't using the slide you could swim in the other section. The depth ranged from 3 feet to 5 feet. There was a kiddie pool with a small mushroom water sprayer. The depth ranged from about 7 inches to 1 foot. Our 3 year old loved this area. There was also a hottub/jacuzzi there as well. This area was pretty clean as well.

GAME ROOM AREA: The kids liked this area too. It had many arcade games plus an air hockey table and a pool table - which delighted our son- he got to play his first game of pool here. Even this room was very clean.

FITNESS ROOM: We didn't really have time to check this room out but we plan to the next time we visit! And it is open 24 hours - how often does that happen?

PLAYGROUND AREA: We forgot all about this area until it was time to go. We drove by it on the way out. It has a basketball court area and a play area with swings, a few slides, rope climbing etc. We will definitely check it out the next time - especially with a 3 year old who loves to be outside.

We also noticed that there was a BBQ area with picnic tables - something to think about when it is nicer outside. We noticed that there was a Meeting Room area and a Guest Laundry area. We also liked the fact that the hotel was 100% smoke free. It was nice!

The staff were extremely friendly and very family oriented. Michael Stark - one of the owners was there during our stay - he was very friendly and accomodating. My husband spent sometime talking and joking with him. Every single person we met during our stay was very friendly.

Would we stay there again? Absolutely. The price was reasonable. The place was immaculate! I don't think we've ever stayed in a cleaner hotel! They are definitely "Family Friendly"! We truly enjoyed our stay and play to go again real soon - maybe even this coming weekend.

This hotel feels so much more luxurious than the price you pay. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The pool and hot tub room was amazing! Great attention to detail, big flat screen TV in the bedroom, very comfortable bed, plenty of space... it was outstanding, especially for the price.

The twin brothers that manage this hotel are creepy,,, I was with a group of families and the kids were in the pool area with adults. The manager came in and screamed in my face that the kids were misbehaving and did I want to find a new place to stay. He said "dont deny it I have you all on camera". Meanwhile three ladies came to my defense and said they had been there all morning and it was a different group of kids. He said the had a problem with my group..that we let the kids run wild as we "drank excessively" WHAT A LIE!!! Another family in my group were in their room..the mom was in the bathroom and heard the kids talking to someone. She came out and found a woman manager in her room. She used the room key and let herself in to tell them that she had complaints that they were too loud. I have traveled around the world and have never experienced anything like this. The cleaning staff however were very pleasant and accomodating. Maybe the twim creepers should take some advice from them. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! They take your money and treat you like second class citizens....
