“very clean and friendly hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2011

We stayed at the Hampton Inn & suites in Lake George for 3 day. The hotel is away from the busy area of Lake George in a nice quite area. But it is still walking distance to the Lake. The room was very clean and large. The breakfast was good lots of food and no waiting.
We always enjoy staying here when we go to Lake George.
The people are very friendly and helpful. This hotel and the grounds are kept very clean.

Room Tip: Rooms are kept very clean

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of July. Myself, wife, and 2 young children. Great location. About 1 mile from Lake George and 5 miles from Six Flags. Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Room was basic, but clean and comfy. Suitable for our family. We used the indoor pool at night, and enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Even enjoyed the home baked cookies in the late afternoon...when they were available, as it looks like other kids snatch them up immediately! Definitely worth coming back to.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites for a long weekend in July. This hotel appears to be relatively new and set nicely on a hillside. Check-in was easy and quick. Basic rooms but clean, which is most important to me. Small refrigerator, microwave, desk, and very comfy beds. Note there is no in-room safe. Grounds were lovely. Indoor pool and small gym that we didn't use. Breakfast had a good assortment of breads, fruit, yogurt, waffles you make yourself and a variety of tea and coffee. The bananas were way too green!

Other: We rented a motorboat for 1.5 days from Yankee Boat Rentals in Diamond Point and we enjoyed our time on the Lake. Staff there is very helpful and the boat was very nice. Be aware of the line of boats in front of you when you are bringing the boat back if near end-of-rental day, which is 5pm. After we returned the boat the first night we stopped for sandwiches (for the next day) and ice cream from Stable Gate deli which is a mile or two south of the boat rental place.

There is only one small grocery store in this area and it's in Bolton Landing.

We had a fun trip to Lake George.

we are regular hampton inn geusts around the country. this is one of the nicest i have stayed at. ( they all are very good) the thing we liked was that it was located in lake george right down the street from all the tourist stuff, eateries, shops, the lake etc. etc. however it is nestled atop a hill surounded by a forest with great views and peace. the place was spotless and the service great. the real breakfast that is included was great and the rooms were real nice. the indoor pool and hot tub were clean and the water was great. they had clean towels at the pool for us. the place was a real good find, worth the money payed by far! tom and maureen.

This hotel sit perched at the top of the hill along Route 9 and you have the luxury of a spectacular view of the Adirondack Mountains.

Very clean, modern and elegant hotel I should say. I would recommend this to any one planning to stay at Lake George. I will give this an A++++++..

Me and the wife stayed here from July 6th to July 10th, it was a return trip as we had stayed at the Hampton last year and were quite satisfied. We were actually delighted to find it had actually improved since last time.
Now let's be honest, this is Lake George-home of the tourist trap and mediocre hotels galore so don't expect the Four Seasons or the Ritz Carlton.
I'll start off with my minor gripes-like most hotels in Lake George, the Hampton suffers from terrible soundproofing and thin walls. This problem translated to two sleepless nights for me as the people in the next room were beyond obnoxious and were slamming doors, yelling and loudly laughing until two in the morning. I have experienced the same unpleasantness in the past at the Marine Village Motel, it was even worse there and the room was filthy to boot. It seems like paper thin walls are a staple in LG, perhaps it would be a good idea to have some security to monitor overbearing noise past eleven or so...I realize it's a vacation town but a modicum of respect for others should be expected. Another alternative would be to rent a little stand alone cabin at the Graycourt Inn in Queensbury, I stayed there a few years back and was very pleased.
I also concur with the other reviewer that the shower curtain had an overpowering stale odor, but then again the room was otherwise very clean as was the bathroom. When compared to other accommodations in Lake George, the Hampton comes away smelling like a rose.
From check-in, the hotel staff excelled at customer satisfaction (especially Penny). We were checked in just after one with no problems almost three hours before official check-in time, the staff was pleasant and cordial. We were made to feel like family and requests for towels, tissue paper and immediate room cleaning in the morning were respected and fulfilled to our satisfaction. The desk staff engaged us in conversation on many occasions and made us feel right at home. After a tense moment hiking on Prospect Mountain, we were surprised when the desk staff actually called our room to inquire about our health and welfare. Truly above and beyond the call.
The rooms are quite nice and well appointed, the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the flat screen television and selection of recent box-office hits.
The hotel itself is tucked away on a hill in back of the Howard Johnson's, it is a little distance to the village but not bad at all. There is a Rite Aid, Italian restaurant, water park, and Pirate Cove mini golf located within walking distance for your convenience and entertainment. It's a short drive to Queensbury where you'll find some of the better chain restaurants like the Outback Steakhouse and Chicago's Uno Grill, this is of prime importance as the eating options in Lake George Village have really declined in recent years.
The Hampton Inn & Suites Lake George, I really see no reason to stay anywhere else and we hope to be back soon.

We stayed at a different Hampton in the past and was totally satisfied thats why we chose another for our vacation but this one was dirty. There was hair in the bathroon sink, sprinkles on the kitchen counter top.Stains on furniture, towels and comforter. When I turned the water on in the shower and waited while it warmed up I smelled something funky, well it was the shower curtain. It smelled sour.I wanted to vomit. We paid $250 a night and expected better things from the Hampton. We won't go back.Oh yea and if you want a balcony make sure your about 100 pounds because they are so small there is no room to move.I also had to wait 10 mins at the desk to check in because no one was there and no one was there when we left so we just left the keys on the counter.
