I'm so grateful to Lynn and the staff at Dunham's Bay for making my daughter's wedding such a happy memory for her and for us too! The attention to detail was terrific - our guest bags were placed IN the rooms before check-in so folks with luggage didn't need to tote those too... rehearsal dinner in a private room... periodic "check ins" with the bride and groom to insure all was well throughout the weekend... fabulous food... and several lovely surprises for the newlyweds... complete attention to all the details so the family / bridal party could focus on the bride and groom.

We stayed in one of the cabins and found it amply stocked for our needs. Plenty of towels, clean and comfortable accomodations, TVs in every room (not that we watched much), microwave, coffee maker, toaster, full sized refrigerator, etc.

Aside from the wedding activities, members of our party ate in the restaurant and were all very pleased with the quality and quantity of food provided. We also enjoyed a post-wedding gathering around the bonfire relaxing and rehashing with a bit of bocce and shuffleboard for those that still had energy!

With the recent hurricane on top of an already rainy August, we expected the cabin might be a bit musty - not so! It was warm on opening, thanks to a hot, sunny day, but a few minutes with the air conditioner and it was very comfortable.

I am looking forward to my next visit and will definitely stay at Dunham's Bay again. From those that took care of the rooms and grounds, to the wait staff in the bar and restaurant, right up to the general manager - the staff at DB were unfailingly pleasant and helpful.

Thank you Lynn, Ashley, Andrew, Jack, John, and all the rest of DB's wonderful staff!!

My sister was married here yesterday and everything has been absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!! The staff has been amazing. Lynn took care of every last detail and we did not have to worry about a thing. Some of the pieces that stuck with me -
1. the bride and groom both stayed here the night before the wedding; it seemed everyone on staff knew who they were and where each of them were so they didn't see each other before their ceremony;
2. Lynn wore the couples' wedding colors the night of the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner - small touch but very personal and showed her thoughfulness
3. Each of us in the wedding party did not have to think about where to be when or at what point to start walking etc. Lynn was there every step of the way telling us
4. The couple was able to make every part of their wedding completely personal - there are no traditions at Dunham's Bay.
5. The D.B. staff and outside vendors worked incredibly well together to make sure everything was coordinated beautifully - use the Adirondack Wedding Association!!!
6. Our cabins were cleaned beautifully & the staff took very good care of us as guests.

I cannot say enough good things abot Lynn and the Dunham's Bay staff. They will rock your socks off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I, along with our two young children, stayed at Dunham for two nights, midweek. Pros: The pool was the primary perk at this property. Very clean, not crowded at all. Nice flat screen TV in the room with numerous cable channels. Beds and linens were clean, and bedbug free. Shower had one of those nice curved rods that allow for more room in the shower, without fighting with the curtain. Friendly front-desk clerk. Beautiful views of Lake George. Cons: When we first entered our room there was an unpleasant odor, which we later discovered was coming from a really wet spot in the rug below the air conditioner/heater unit. Thankfully there was a box fan in the room (drying the wet carpet), which we used to air out the dank smell. While there was plenty of water on the carpet, there was not a drop to be found in the bathroom, as the third floor's water was not working. Though this was resolved within an hour of arrival, a functional bathroom is pretty important for travelers who've spent hours on the road. The "beach" is not private or really convenient as you have to sign out from the hotel and wear a wrist band in order to visit the beach area across the road, which is not owned by the hotel. We we warned that not obeying this policy would result in our being yelled at by the actual owners. During our visit the beach was being swarmed by bees. No thanks! Also, it was really frustrating to not have a microwave, as it makes it impossible to reheat leftovers. Overall, our stay was okay. We stayed at a newer property on Rte. 9 during our two previous trips to Lake George and were more comfortable there and more centrally located. With all of the options along the main drag of Lake George that are closer to the attractions, shopping, and restaurants we will likely find somewhere more updated, with more amenities should we return to Lake George.

Yes, the rooms could use a "makeover", but the location and the staff make up for it. I attended the wedding the other reviewer was talking about, and it was beautiful. The DJ was great and had everyone up on their feet, which made for a fun night........Fun, that's why some of us go away........to break out of routine and enjoy!

I would go back there again in a flash and wish that a wedding was going on so I could enjoy the music and fun, of course from a distance!

Great staff!

We spent this past week at Dunham's Resort and had a great experience. We were meeting friends and decided on Lake George as a central location. Our room was clean and the beds were sooo....... comfortable. I asked and was told they are Temurpedic. We dined in the restaurant/bar and the food was very good with a good selection of pasta, chicken, beef and fish dishes.
The resort has an indoor pool which we enjoyed after our day of sight seeing. We also used the available grills and had a BBQ and finished off the night with a bonfire with other guests. A special thanks to all of the staff who made our stay enjoyable especially, Kaitlyn, Jack and Liz.

Matthew Taormino, GM of Dunham's Bay Resort. Can't thank you enough for the kind words. It's so nice to hear when our guests make full use of all the resort has to offer. The restaurant, pool, grills, and fire pit are options that help us really be all things to all guests. Thanks for letting the others know that our personal staff really made your stay complete. The mattresses are actually Sealy Posturepedic. Glad you found them comfortable. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful experience at Dunham's Bay Resort with others.

Simply not worth the price. The staff was personable yet uninformed at times. Two bedroom porch suites were sparse, oddly laid-out and the kitchen was barely usable with the items supplied, (pots, pans, utensils, no oven...). Ours did have a minimal lake view if you turned all of the plastic/rubber porch chairs completely sideways. Large crack in one bathroom mirror, one bedroom tv on the fritz & the maids turned on AC - and left it on - while a laptop was resting on the unit. Beds were hard. Pool hours were reduced on the first day of our visit. A large event tent, complete with bare tables & stacked chairs, was constructed in the central area of the resort when we arrived & stayed there for our entire stay.

If you are looking to experience Lake George on your visit to Lake George - this lake access is a joke. No fishing and a mini beach guarded by one very mean keeper.

Basically - we found ourselves wanting to leave the resort and seek vacation-like things to do. Not our plan when we booked an, "all inclusive resort" vacation.

Matthew Taormino, GM of Dunham's Bay Resort. So sorry to hear your visit was not what you expected. Noting some of your concerns; the kitchens, unlike most cabins in the area, do come with an ample supply of kitchen items. If any guest feels the need for additional items we always make them available upon request. We are aware of the cracked mirror and it is on order. We apologize in regards to the TV. A simple call to the front desk notifying us of the issue would have had it resolved in minutes. We do not recall the issue of reduced hours for the pool any time this past week. The Spa/Jacuzzi was being repaired one day during your visit. The stack of twenty chars was set for an in house conference that was being conducted during your stay. The tent with ping pong table underneath and uncovered tables and chairs are available for all guests to enjoy during inclement weather. We do not advertise, nor do we consider ourselves, an all inclusive resort (meals and planned activities are not part of our itinerary.) We have a great play area complete with horseshoes, bocce ball, shuffle board, as well as a tennis/basketball area for all to enjoy. We offer a full service restaurant serving all three meals. As always, we welcome feedback, and consider any concerns to be a high priority.

We were there this weekend also and had a wonderful visit. For us besides the Lake itself, the star of this resort is the staff. Hope the owner is aware how lucky he is to have his property run by such wonderful, and helpful people. Ashley at the front desk greeted us all with a big smile and Lynn, you look like you enjoy your job, it shows!!! The rooms are a little tired, but we were told they were working on that. We had a few rooms, some had already been done, but all were clean. We will go back, we will have our drink with Jack, the terrific bartender as we promised. Go here, drive around this beautiful lake or better yet, try to get on the lake by boat, its just beautiful. Thanks for a great time, The Sisters!!!!!
