“Informative and relaxing boat ride”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2012

This 2.5 hour trip around Lake George was a great experience. The two men who served as guides were so informative and pleasant to listen to . The scenery at this time (Fall foliage) was gorgeous and if you are a history buff, this tour is perfect as you learn about the entire area in a short time. The ride was very smooth and a really fun time!

“Steamboat Company of Lake George has great cruises”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

We wanted to experience a ride on a "genuine" paddlewheel steamer because there are only 5 left in the U.S The Minnie-Ha-Ha is the real deal! This one hour cruise lets you experience what it was like in the Victorian age with only a minimal investment in time and cost. We also asked and recieved a senior discount. The captain gives an interesting explanation of the various islands and mansions surrounding the lower part of the Lake, which is what you will see in this short trip. There are light refreshments available (hot dogs, popcorn, candy, soda), and you have the choice of sitting on an open deck or in an enclosed space. As you wait for your cruise to board, they will operate the steam-powered calliope with a short tune. This is worth the cruise alone. But then you will also experience the whooshing of the steam power as it alternates pulses out of each smokestack, and view the pistons pushing the paddlewheel from the engineer's operations room. If you have never experienced the thrill of a real stern paddlewheel steamboat, you should take a ride on the Minnie-Ha-Ha. I recommend this to any railfans out there who like steam locomotives - the comparison is unmistakable. There are two large boats with various longer venues as well as lunch and dinner cruises if you wish to spend more time (and money).

We went on the one hour tour. It was so beautiful. The person speaking about the area was very informed and gave us many insights.

“Nice cruise although a little pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

We probably would've enjoyed this cruise more if we had nicer weather. It was pretty cold and rainy all day. We did the lunch cruise on the The Lac du Saint Sacrement. The theme for the weekend was Oktoberfest so there was a German band playing (a little loud so it was kind of hard to hear the people at your table but they were good). The food was average it included a Buffett of veal, potatoes, pork, Wiener schnitzel, rolls, and salad. There was German chocolate cake for dessert which was excellent. For a family of 4 it was about $170 which I thought was a little high because the food was not exactly gourmet. The cruise was beautiful despite the weather and all of the staff were very friendly.

“Sunday Brunch Cruise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

Took the Luc Saint Sacrament (the biggest boat) for a Sunday morning brunch cruise with our 5 year old. Great time. boat was not too packed. food was excellent. They make your omlettes to order, with a wide variety of toppings. Service was very good. Live entertainment at one end of the main cabin with music piped through the ship. Captain/tour guide was very informative of different landmarks along the route. Entire trip was about 2 1/2 hours. After meal go up on top deck for plenty of outdoor chairs to enjoy the rest of the ride. Got slightly discounted tickets with AAA card. Good value for the money and our 5 year old really enjoyed it and was entertained for the entire route.
