Adirondack Camping Village
Reviewed August 22, 2011

A short 5 years ago is when I took my now 6 year old camping for the first time camping. I remember how special it was and when we had an opportunity to go camping again on a last minute decision we decided to go back to Adirondack Camping Village in Lake George NY. I am was so pleasantly pleased as we arrived on Friday around 5pm checked in and received our campsite number 44. When we arrived to the campsite it was cleaned up and tidy and ready for us to set out tents up and get our camp fire roaring for roasting marshmallows and enjoying each others company (which we don't get to do often since I am a single mom with a more then full time job at a city hospital)! We were by the bathroom which worked out great with a 6 yr old and 3 yr old they were very clean and I even had to comment how the doors to the actual bathroom were great because they weren't the flimsy ones which slam all night when people go in and out we never heard the doors at all! Everyone was respectful of each other and at night there were no loud obnoxious noises and yelling even with it being so crowded especially since I was told when I reserved just the week before that there were only 3 spots left! The next morning we woke up nice and early and as soon as they opened the gates ( which close at 1am and open at 7am) I ran to the gas station to grab some coffee, unfortunately the store at the campsite does not open till 9am. But the gas station was 1 exit up for the village but only a 7 min drive and returned back with coffee and breakfast we then proceeded to get ready for the pool! The kids had the best time my 3 year old loved the baby pool which was 1 1/2 feet perfect for him, he especially loved the 4 little water spouts. My 6yr old just kept jumping in the bigger pool and loved there were so many little stairs going in the pool so it was easy for her to get in and out! we proceeded to the two playgrounds and enjoyed the game room and the beautiful weather we were having walked back to the camp site and took little naps so we could gear up for the rest of the day. Before dinner was made me and the kids drove to the camp store and bought some bags of wood (which runs you $7 a bag and 4 bags lasted 2 nights) went back and cook dinner on the fire. Before we left for the village we took showers this I need to stress!! I dont know if the others are the same but the ones by site 44 are NOT good it felt like just mist coming out and only 1 out of 2 worked they were clean I would def have to say that but the actual water pressure I was still feeling very dirty but hey we are camping. So we cleaned up and walked around the village got to see the Minnie HA-HA set sail had a slushi and went back to roast marshmallows and enjoy each other with glow sticks and scary stories (well not so scary kind of silly). I was sad when we woke up the next morning and had to pack up and leave wish we had a few more days but the kids and I went into the village that morning and swam in the lake and enjoyed a little more of Lake George before we headed home to reality!

Very beautiful grounds. Convenient to Lake George and highway to nearby attractions. My kids opted to see the movie each of the three nights we were there. The pool, play area was nicely maintained as were the other areas of the campground. Overall a good atmosphere. It would be nice if the fire pits came with a flip up grill for food prep.

Sitting at my campsite as I write this...so quiet and serene. Great sites, nicely spaced out with so many trees. It actually feels like I am in the woods instead of packed in like sardines like many campsites. Pool is awesome. No hint of grossness at all. The bathrooms on the other hand are moderately nasty but not as bad as others. Showers have annoying timer but it's definitely worth it to camp here. I would def come again.

We really liked this campground because it was nicely wooded and the amenities were up to date and very clean. Although some of the sites are a little on the small size they meet your needs. It was very quiet even though the campground was mostly filled. It is only minutes from downtown lake George as well as Bolton Landing. We will definitely camp here again the next time we come to Lake George.
