One of the best beach scenery anywhere. (and I lived in Florida, and cruise yearly). Awesome fresh water lake in the middle of mountains- breathtaking scenery. Clean and fun.

We enjoyed the beach except the water was a bit muddy perhaps because of the rain the night before. The beach closes at 6pm. We preferred the beach area near where you board the cruises. The water was clear there.

We got there early, as we were expecting crowds in July. The beach opens at 10 am, so we were lined up waiting for the parking lot to open. It's 10$ for the parking, the beach is free.
We got onto the beach and set up a spot. It didn't take long for the beach to be completely packed with people. There were people set up on all sides of us within 3 feet. They had a sign up saying no bathing beyond this sign, because there was no lifeguard in that section. There were only 2 lifeguards in total. I think they could have sprung for a third lifeguard considering it was mid July, so that the people would be able to spread out more. It was jam packed, on the beach and in the lake too. There are quite a few rules set out, one of which is no throwing of any kind such as balls, frisbees or athletic games. I can see why. If you stretched your arm out you might take someone's eye out so you were so close to them. You are also not allowed any flotation devices like water wings for kids or floating boards, which was a bit of a drag.

It's a nice enough beach, and the facilities provided are very good. There are changing rooms, showers and washrooms. If you don't love crowds though, this is probably not the place for you in high season.

Went with the family for the day. I found the sand to be more like dirt than sand. The water was not as clear as other areas, likely due to all the swimmers kicking up dirt and sediment. The restrooms and snack bar were decent, but found the beach to be dirty overall. I thought $10 to park with free admission reasonable as we are used to paying much higher prices at the jersey shore. Just wished it was more sandy instead of dirty sand.

Enjoyable visit for families - great to swim and enjoy Lake activity beachside. Keep in mind no inflatable toys in water.
