We visited and had both a piece of cheesecake and a caramel boat, essentially a variation on the classic chocolate eclair. Both items were very good and reasonably fresh tasting, though not remarkable.
The area where I reside is well known for world class bakeries and pastry shops, however I do live in a very cosmopolitan city so it's hard to compare to a small, tourist area such as Lake George and doing so would probably be unfair. Canada Street is pretty much populated with shops and restaurants that specialize in all manner of junk food, so having something that is baked fresh is a nice alternative and I'm happy we went here rather than our first choice of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
I concur strongly with the other reviewer that stated the ordering/eating-in area is way too small and gets very congested. Better off taking out and eating by the lake or in your hotel room.
