Description: Since 1991 we've been smokin' and sauce slingin' so we know how to cook - and treat barbeque with the respect it deserves. Our sauce is homemade in our kitchen in Lake George, NY, and our meats are seasoned & cooked to perfection. Ours is some of the best BBQ north of Memphis, and we aren't afraid to say so. But don't take our word for it, come and taste the sensation for yourself. Have us cater your next event!

My family was at the Barnsider for lunch on the 29th which we never got to eat. Our extended family of 10 including four children was kept waiting over an hour and still no food. We decided to leave at 1:00, and hour and ten minutes after we arrived. Contrary to the Barnsider’s response on the prior review, when we arrived for lunch at 12:00 on the same exact weekend, they were not busy at all, maybe 4 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. If you can’t manage to turn out food in an un-crowded restaurant, what is it like when the restaurant is crowded? As we were leaving, our waitress said “It takes time to make homemade food”. Homemade food? My son ordered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich off the kids menu. Any parent can whip this up in seconds. If it takes this long to make your food then you should be focusing on a different cuisine or hiring a more efficient kitchen brigade. My family has eaten in restaurants all over the world including 3 starred Michelin restaurants in New York City and Paris, and a million and one different barbeque restaurants all over the country. Not a single one of us has ever left a restaurant prior to being served, until we were so unfortunate as to come upon the Barnsider. Even the most amateur restaurateur would have been sympathetic to children and offered a slice of bread, or offered to bring out the children’s meals first.

I really hope this local business can get its act together and can improve their customer service because in the case of the Barnsider, where there’s smoke, there is indeed fire.

Stopped over Memorial Day weekend. Service was very slow as we found out 2 waitresses did not show up for work that day & saw a table get up and leave before ordering. Food was good, kids enjoyed their meals and the price was right.

We had dinner here on our recent trip up to Lake George, Memorial Day Weekend. We sat out on the deck, since it was such a lovely night. It took a bit to get out food, but it was a very busy night, and they brought us a basket of delicious cornbread to hold us over. When our food did arrive, it was worth the wait! I ordered the baby back ribs and they were tender and flavorful. Great service, great food and good value! We will be coming back here again!!

On thursday night during the OFF season, they have a $13.95 all you can eat ribs special... the first plate was huge with the sides (skip the coleslaw, bland, like eating just raw cabbage)....they piled the ribs high....we werent even done with out first plate and the waiter had already ordered us a second...another plate of ribs brought to us .....they would have kept them coming but we were full... and bonus, what you dont eat you take home!... there was a man playing music on his guitar, the atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable! I will be going there again OFTEN....

We were passing through Lake George and were very lucky to have found the Barnsider! It happened to be All You Can Eat RIB NIGHT (Thursday) and our son was in PIG HEAVEN! The rest of us had delicious pulled pork sandwiches, which were wonderful. They were so big we had leftovers! The atmosphere is relaxed casual. They even had a solo guitarist playing; we enjoyed his music so much we purchased the CD! Our waitress was very polite and friendly. I'm looking forward to returning soon. The value was the best we found all weekend!
