We stay in Kingston/New Paltz/Saugerties quite often and have found very few restaurants open past 10pm. In fact I can count the number of those open past 10pm on two hands or less. This place is the best diner in the area and quite popular from the crowd of people moving in and out Saturday night at 11:30pm. The fare is tasty, coffee is good and the pricing reasonable. Portion sizes seemed quite generous and we found Dietz Stadium Diner to be clean, even the bathrooms.
An added bonus is the nice sized parking area next to the restaurant. Nice Job Dietz Diner!

Tried out several diners here in the Kingston area when we moved up here. Been going to Dietz for a few years now on a regular basis. Some of the waitresses we love. Have chatted with the owners and they are also very personable. They are friendly & attentive. Some waitstaff act like they would rather be elsewhere. However, go there often, you can easily weed them out. Food wise - Happy with the quality. the omelettes are done right, portions are decent. From the lunch menu, they make a very good grilled chicken sandwich on a club roll. They are not skimpy on the chicken. The only thing I would like is better coffee. Diner coffee to me is like water. Would not mind a bolder alternative which would mean less cups of the other stuff. And to correct others who feel they must mention the owners ethnicity. They are Cypriots. True, they speak Greek but they are of different nationality. What this has to do with the quality of a diner is beyond me. Provincial thinking I guess.

Only went for breakfast. Huge portions for breakfast, reasonable (even low) prices. Go hungry. If you have the courage for it, try the Belgium waffles with strawberry ice cream and whipped cream. Unbelievable. The Eggs benedict (twioeggs and english muffins) and a vegetarian omelet were huge and fantstic. I would expect lunch and dinner to be similar in size and price (did not scope that out).

This is a traditional diner. Everything they serve here is wonderful. Breakfast is a standout--the eggs benedict is perfect; the home fries are among the best. Greek-inspired dishes are homemade and fabulous. We eat here frequently.
