We stayed at the Courtyard for two nights while sightseeing in the area. We had planned to stay in the Hyde Park/Poughkeepsie area since we were visiting the FDR homes, Vanderbilt mansion, Walkway Across the Hudson, and CIA but everything was booked for our two weekend nights. We found the Courtyard a good location to access all of the main roads and cross Hudson bridges we needed. Everything was within about 20-30 minutes drive which worked out fine. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were well maintained, spacious and quiet. The view across the shopping area parking lot wasn't great but it was convenient to walk to Target when we realized we'd forgotten something. The hotel staff were very helpful and made good restaurant recommendations.
This Courtyard had a Bistro but breakfast was not complimentary. Since I'm a Marriott Gold Level member and much of what is usually comped at other Marriotts was either unavailable (concierge floor) or included (wi-fi) I requested breakfast. The reception staff gave us two coupons which did not include everything on the menu (Starbuck's venti latte) but did include a hot entree and small beverage and two cold items and a small coffee which saved us over $18.00 for what would have been an expensive breakfast. Gold and platinum members should definitely request breakfast coupons. Breakfast added to an already very good stay.More
