“SMSP... A Good Beach and more”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

The park is a nice place to spend a summer day. It has a calm beach, a golf course, and picnic grounds.

“Great boardwalk!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

we love to take a stroll on the boardwalk in the afternoon. The beach is well maintained. On weekends it is very crowded so we avoid visiting on those days. Wed. nights is a Lobster Fest and live music. We have not tried the food but the entertainment is always enjoyable.

“One of Long Island's 'Natural Gems'!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

Began yesterday, Saturday, morning with a bargain-rate Yoga class at the East Pavilion -- 9:30am and I got one of the dozen-closest parking slots (Parking Field 3). An hour later, the 1.5-mile-long boardwalk still was not crowded, but merely 'active' with dozens of my neighbors. Lifeguards had fully occupied their towers, and the dozen+ "beach volleball" courts had set their nets up for the day's plays. NO boomboxes on the beach , but only in the strips of parkland adjacent to the *ample* parking-lots.
You wanna see a couple thousands of your neighbors enjoying themselves, this's the place to be.

“A Day at the beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

We walked the boardwalk its full length. We sat for a few minutes to watch a volleyball game. There was a map that showed where the beach was in relation to Connecticut, the opposite shore from Long Island. We went to thr snack bar where I hd a delicious ice cream dessert.

“A nice place to relax or exercise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

Great boardwalk for strolling, walking, running or biking! Lots of fields. A snack bar and restaurant are on the boardwalk, too. Beach is beautiful, but small and gets quite crowded on the weekends by noon. They just delivered lots of new sand, so beach is in great shape.
