We have been going to Keene Valley for 5 years now. We meet up with friends and our group of about 20 people stay throughout town as there is family who reside in town. We have stayed in guests rooms, basements and other inns in the area but this year we went back for a second stay at the lodge (we stayed there last year and were spoiled by it and now we can not stay anywhere else:)) There is not enough good things I can say about the lodge, Seriously. Both years we stayed in room 7 which has its own bathroom and is just lovely! Since there are two beds we were able this year to invite our two nieces with us for a couple of nights and they also loved it! Breakfast in the morning is wonderful and the inn keepers are beyond helpful! There really is not enough good things I can say we love Keene Valley, and we love the Keene Valley Lodge.

Room Tip: Room 7 is in the back of the lodge and very quiet with its own bathroom

We stayed with family for a week in Phelps Cottage, the house next door to the Keene Valley Lodge. A delightful, cozy, cottage, just perfect for our family, two floors, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, big kitchen, living, dining, den, and porches, TV and wifi, washer and dryer, and outdoor grill. We never met the hosts during our stay, a key left in the main lodge - this is a self check accommodation. Almost like coming to visit an old friend, pictures and artwork, books and collectibles of the owners and a kitchen filled with a variety of everything you'd need.

A terrific location, close by to lots of hiking, walking, playground, library, restaurants and grocery. Phelps cottage is however, right on the main road, and traffic noise can sometimes be a factor in the evening or early morning. The humidity added to moisture in the baths and the toilets did sweat lots but that's only a slight inconvenience considering the joy of being in the Adirondacks, sharing time with family and creating lots of fun memories in this cozy cottage!

We have reviewed the lodge before but it had been a year since we had been back figured it was a good time to repost. As always it was excellent! A perfect break from the chaos of life. Only complaint was we couldn't stay longer. The owners are warm and welcoming, breakfast delicious, rooms emmaculate and comfortable, and you cannot beat the scenery and hiking. Always plotting a time to return!

Everything is good about this accommodation; from the friendly owners, George and Laurie, to the super clean rooms with the colourful quilts, enjoying the warmth of the magnificant stone fireplace in the living room. We have stayed there at least three times per winter during the last four winters and the friendly atmosphere continues to embrace us. Situated in the quaint town of Keene Valley surrounded by those majestic 4,000 foot mountains, this is a winter getaway to relax or 'hike till you drop' - your choice.

Room Tip: Over the years we have stayed in every room and suite in the house and all are very comfortable and can accommodate multiple combinations of guests.
