“Nice, Big Rooms with Renovated Bathrooms”
Reviewed December 26, 2009

I stayed here on a business trip this past month (Dec. 09) and was pleasantly surprised. The room was good sized with a renovated bathroom. The bathroom was very clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. The bathroom countertop was new with a marble top. In addition, there was a heat lamp in the bathroom which makes drying off in the cold winter so much better. The beds were very comfortable with nice quality sheets. The TV had many channels. Breakfast was ok.... glazed donuts and cereal were about the only appetizing things there. You can get both USA Today and local paper in the morning. That's great! WiFi was great... it was very fast!! Overall, great stay... the girl checking me in at night didn't seem to know too much about the area or what would be open... the elevator was kind of slow and old....the hallways could use a renovation... but overall great stay.

I stayed at the Best Western in Johnson City one night as to get my teenaged son to an early morning golf tournament in Endicott the next day. We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. We took advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub in the evening and that was very well maintained as well. The hotel is centrally located with a mall and many restaurants nearby. No full service restaurant, so we went across the street to Ruby Tuesday's. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. The continental breakfast was offered from 6:00 to 10:00 am and was well stocked with fresh fruit, juice, eggs, toast, bagels and muffins. The coffee was great. I got a better rate of $110 per night through Expedia vs $135 per night through the Best Western web site. If I had to return to Johnson City, I would stay there again.

Customer service stinks. We stayed one night but was overcharged for 3 nights. General Manager was rude. Took about two weeks with plenty of phone calls to the Johnson City Best Western just get my money back that I was overcharged for. I would highly not recommend this hotel. Not worth the headache!

No way, ever again will we stay at this hotel. If you have allergies, asthma or just want to breathe, take our advice and stay away. We requested a non-smoking room. There was nothing even remotely non-smoking about this room. Also, it had some other sort of weird odor that lingered on our clothes and suitcase. We have yet to figure out what that smell was, but it was bad. The tub had a dirty old shower curtain that was torn badly. The toilet was absolutely disgusting. We had exactly 3 dingy towels, 2 wash cloths and 2 hand towels. The continental breakfast was non-existent. We went down around 8ish only to find scraps of food. We left and ate breakfast else where. I would not recommend this place to anyone at any age. I don't know how bad it was before they re-did this place but it surely is in need of a desperate good cleaning and airing out. Travelers beware and stay some place else.

We have stayed here a number of times, and because a business associate loves the motel, will undoubtedly stay here again.

If you are staying in Binghamton because of access to SUNY, you will be less than ten minutes away.

The motel is adequate. The last time there our room had a number of problems: the door would not close without a very firm jerk shut; the bathroom sink and tub were clogged and drained very slowly; we ran out of tissues; and perhaps because the drains were clogged, the room had a musty smell. Ice machines are on alternate floors.

The continental breakfast room is small, but the breakfast is adequate, and there is a separate nicely appointed computer room with two computers available.

If you stay at the hotel, you can get a pass to use a very good private gym located a short walk across the parking lot.

There are many hotels within a few miles of this property that are much better than this. Just book one of them, and don't waste your time with this one. The staff is surly and unhelpful, and don't know or don't care about about how to deliver customer service. The place still has the lingering smell of many many years of smoking, and a lot of the rooms are situated so as to be extremely noisy, as a previous reviewer noted. But even if you are not assigned a room over the bar, all the rooms have very thin walls, and there really isn't such thing as a quiet room here. The room cleanliness is very suspect, and if you are parking your car in the lot outside, make sure to take all of your valuables, as it is dark and "accessible." I moved to another hotel as soon as I could. There are three within walking distance that are better, and at least five about three miles away that are very good and close to the same price. Really, stay here only as a last resort, and if you have to stay here, at least try and negotiate a discounted rate, since it just isn't up to the standards it should be.
