I have stayed at this Hampton and the Hampton Inn in Vestal several times. As a previous reviewer stated, the hotel is in an "odd location" behind a Wegman's supermarket and near the highway. I did not hear any noise from the highway but I did hear the trucks making early deliveries to the market. The heating / ac unit is noisy but that is not unusual. The breakfast area is small compared to other Hamptons that I have visited. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was as expected and the staff was helpful and efficient. The pool and small exercise room looked fine but I did not use them. You can walk to the mall and several places to eat, but there is a lot of traffic. If I have a choice I would stay in Vestal.

We had lectures in the area and found this a pleasant, convenient Hampton to serve as our base. It's near a shopping center, also convenient for travelers.

We stopped in Johnson City as part of a road trip across New York State and it was by far the cleanest & best equipped hotel from the trip.

Staff were welcoming and helpful (and baked cookies for their guests, always a major positive as far as I am concerned) and the hotel bright and clean (rooms, public areas and pool).

Plenty of choice of local restaurants (although car needed) and at breakfast. Location is little odd but supermarket next door proved a real bonus for picking up picnic lunch before departing!

As with most chains a little lacking in character but as a convenient, good value, reliable stop over, highly recommended.

I have stayed here many times in the past and been pleased, even if the place is a little worn. Very odd location, and in recent years (2 or so) the staff have become friendly... which is a welcome change! My last stay was very odd... I reserved a nonsmoking room. I was given one of 4 nonsmoking rooms on the 3rd floor. This room was among 30+ smoking rooms on that floor... needless to say, it smelled like an ashtray. I had through a fit reminiscent of Shirley McClain in Terms of Endearment to get a real nonsmoking room. If you need to stay in the Binghamton .... use Hampton Inn in Vestal... much nicer!

Right from the start the service was fantastic - right down to the "check-in" cookie. They made us feel welcome and were very helpful. The room was decent size and spotless, including the bathroom - and it was returned to spotless each day after the cleaning was done. We requested (and got) a fridge and microwave for our room - which was very handy. Each room also has free wifi access, iron and ironing board, and a single serve coffee pot. Has a decent size breakfast room, with each day being a different variety of hot and cold breakfast foods to choose from and pretty good coffee too. Also has a nice pool and whirlpool tub. The pool was having some maintenance finished up during the first two days of our stay (which were notified about about a week prior - long after we had booked), since this was one of the reasons we booked here (2 small kids to occupy) to compensate we were given a gift card to a local nearby restaurant. Once the pool was up - it was great! There is a Wegman's 24 hour grocery store directly in front of hotel, and Oakdale Mall across the street. The hotel is right next to the highway, which we could not hear at all from inside our room. We will stay here again next time we're in town.

Clean hotel, slightly run down (showing it s age). Food is ok for breakfast. Staff is very friendly. Location is convenient for dining. Recommend getting a room away from the highway, to reduce/eliminate highway noise at night.
