“Cute Park”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

All of the Carousels in the area are free - there are 6 and they are all fun. If you ride all 6 you get a button. The park itself is small but go for the ride.

“Renovated Park Worth a Visit”
Reviewed February 2, 2011

The carousel in this park has been recently renovated and they added a very nice (small, but free) spray playground. This park also has a small but decent playground. Other parts of this park are in the process of being renovated--during the summer a sign said that the restrooms were going to be redone in the fall. It is also across the street from the new Walmart.

This park is definitely worth a visit in the summer when the carousel and the spray park are open.

“It used to be a wonderful park!”
Reviewed July 25, 2009

I also have parents who grew up in Johnson City. Both of my grandparents worked at the shoe factory. We used to go up there every summer. What at wonderful time that was. The park was out of this world! It was a big park! It had all kinds of rides, a huge swimming pool, the merry go round, etc. We had a ball! I recently went up there again after 40 years and found the park to be destroyed. The nice rides were taken out. A bad basketball court in the middle of everything. I could not believe how they destroyed that park. It was so sad, really, really sad! Shame on Johnson City for allowing this to happen.

But the merry go round was still nice. It just didn't have all the nice music that it used to have. Also, hardly anyone was there. It used to be jammed packed full of people. Maybe if they stepped up the music more people would come.

“Fantastioc childhood memories”
Reviewed March 1, 2009

My Dad grew up in Johnson City, my grandparents worked at the shoe factory. We visited JC every summer when I was a kid the carousel was always my favorite (greene's field pool was another favorite! and the little shops on Harry L. Dr. where I would buy candy) Those were the days!
