Our hockey team stayed here for the Jamestown Ice Hockey Tournament. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the rooms were and how accomodating the entire staff is... expecially Patti... (Thanks for everything... you made our stay a memorable one.) The breakfast that they provide was great for both the kids and adults. The pool is on the small size but worked very nicely even with our large group. I know we will be back next year for this tournament and will certainly stay here.

I'm not going to write a scathing review of this hotel, because it wasn't a HORRIBLE place....it just had some problems.

First off, we were given keys to our room (#207). When we opened the door, someone else's luggage was already in the room. Thank God there weren't any people in the room! We headed back downstairs and they apologized....we were supposed to be in room 307....not 207. Headed up to the correct room and all was well.

The window air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. Fortunately, the noise was a constant pitch, not up and down which would really have been annoying.

We headed out to the Seneca Allegany Casino, and when we returned (around midnight), there were NO parking places left in the small lot. We were told that we'd have to park our car across the street in a lot where several bar patrons were parked. We had to take everything out of the car for fear it would be broken into.

Got back to the room and found out the walls are PAPER THIN. We could hear the guy's TV in the room next to us....not just a muted sound. We could hear every word coming out of the TV. We called down to the front desk for assistance. They said they would call him, but they didn't. Called down again. This time we heard the phone ring in the next room and heard the guy say, "sorry, I fell asleep". It was like he was in the same room with us, it was that clear! Finally got to sleep. Thank God for earplugs.

One good thing about the hotel - they have great cable selections.

Water pressure - good.
Towels - old and thin.
Iron and ironing board - good.
Mattresses - not too bad. We were able to sleep.
Breakfast - adequate, but they close it at 10 a.m. You'd better get there fast!

Would we stay again? Only if we had to.

We are residents of Jamestown, and chose to stay at the Best Western on our wedding night. The hotel staff was very friendly to us throughout the entire process! When we made our reservations, they showed us what the room looked like.
The room was beautiful, and the jacuzzi was a wonderful way to relax after a hectic day! The hotel was a perfect ending to a perfect day for us.
It's unfortunate the man in the other review had such a bad experience. But, from working in the hotel industry previously, I've learned that you can have that kind of experience anywhere you go, at even the best hotels! And the guest's attitude has a huge impact on their service as well! I'd recommend this hotel to ANY of my friends or relatives visiting the area!

This hotel has so many problems, its reduculous! I satyed here with my family for one night over the winter holidays. We decided to go skiiing at Holiday Valley and we usually saty at the Holiday Inn Jamestown, but we decided to try something new- we are very sorry that we did! I booked online and reserved 2 rooms with 2 double beds both nonsmoking. When I called the hotel to check that my reservation went thru ok, I was informed rudly that there were no more 2 doubles rooms left because of a hockey team (new Ice Arena directly across the street) and that I would be given rooms with kings. This did not suit the number of people in my party, and even so I had the room under a credit card gaurentee and if it said online that the rooms were availble, all I knew is that it sure as heck should have been when I arrived. After a week of phone calls I was finally told much to my suprise that my rooms would be availble, as the team had cancelled. This was a nice suprise, but it was rediculous to start with in the first place. Now let me give you the low down, this is a new limited service hotel in downtown Jamestown. The hotel itself is actually not bad, and I felt that it was pretty clean and the facilities were not bad. A rather small indoor pool, fitness room, buisness center with HSIA, and elevator only add to its appeal, but read on and don't let those nice feature fool you. The hotels free breakfast buffet was actually pretty good, its your basic continental breakfast with a self service hot waffle iron. The rooms are nice, with coffee makers, cable TV, but ours did not come with heat! The desk clerk did not turn the thermostat on when checking us in, and since we went to bed right when we got in we did not notice until like 3AM. At that point we just had a miserable sleep thru the night, and when we reported the problem to the front desk they straight out refused to give us our money back for both of ours rooms. Instead, the woman decided to offer us numerious apologies and a money saver cupoun for our next stay. She also begged us not to mention her name when complaining. When I attempted to tell her that we had no intention to return because of our situation, she told us she would call the owner ("Jay Patel") She did and he could not be botherd, for he was over at his other hotel (the Days Inn) tending to other buisness. I finally gave up angrily, this whole process of arguing with the desk took so long that the woman behind us attempting to check out slammed down her room keys and mutterd something very loud and argrily in a foreign language. Then we ate breakfast and on the way out some other guest was complaining that she had a jacuzzi room and the jets did not work and the hotel maintenance had entered her room to fix it and left parts all over and did not even get her permission to enter. I just rolled by eyes and we left. However, on the way out to the car an older women from housekeeping gave us even more apologies and offered to help us with luggage. That was very nice of her, but even still we were bitter. When we went skiiing we were exhausted from little sleep the night before. You'd think that the hotel would teach the employees the old saying that the customer is always right, but in their case its always right to rip the customer off. Next year for skiing we wont return here unless we get some kind of significant something from them (very doubtful) In fact, even now that that is all over I am still so angry that I plan on notifing them that this review will be online. This is all true, and if you want to have your vacation ruined then stay here, but next year we will look elsewhere. Happy Travels!
