This is a great oppotunity to learn the history of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in her hometown of Jamestown. The museum is divided into two parts. The west side features her life from childhood though movies and into television. Signs tell the story of her life with Desi Arnaz and life after her divorce. Check out costumes she wore in the movie Mame along with her Charlie Chaplin outfit as well as guest star appearances. This section has her Mercedes with the initials LBM-She was married to Gary Morton.
The east side is devoted mostly to "I love Lucy." Recreations of both the NY set and the Hollywood suite are recreated here along with costumes, props and a minature of the entire set. For an added fee you can now have your picture taken on the NY set. You can even start in her famous Vitameatavegamin commercial at the end. The east side and west side have two different entrances and there are two different gift shops in each building.
Allow an hour minimum. The west side is currently expanding to focus more on her life and familiy. At the end of this exhibit check out the mural made up of people's faces. Don't forget to check out the rest rooms too! You may find a hidden gem on the walls!
