Sleep Inn JFK Airport Rockaway Blvd

Stayed overnight at this Sleep Inn, based on Trip Advisor reviews. Although the lobby and hallway were in need of updating, the room was newish and attractive, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower! Breakfast included cereals, yoghurt, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, etc. The shuttle service was quick to pick us up at Federal Circle and returned us to the terminal.

Only concern was something noted by other reviewers. At checkout, we were told “the system is down” and they would email the receipt. The receipt was sent, and like the other reviewers, we were charged $1.63 for “Safe w/ltd Warranty” and $1.63 for “Hotel Services”. We did not use the safe and I can’t imagine any additional services that were not included in the room rate. I responded to the email questioning the charges – and without any explanation, they replied they had made an “adjustment”. Given other reviewers had the same experience, this seems like a deceptive practice that should not occur. As a result, I’m lowering my otherwise 4 star rating (shuttle, room, breakfast, & location) to 2 stars.

Stayed here for one night - room was extremely small and there is almost no parking. The general area does not scream, "safe". The parking lot is small - maybe room for 12 cars. If you don't get there in time to park in the secured lot, you are parking on a street outside of any secured area and maybe not near the hotel. This entire area is a bit of a risky area. If you only need a night to stay while layover from the airport -maybe, it is worth a look. But, given the size of the rooms and the area, lack of parking -seems too pricey for what you get.

Room Tip: If you have a vehicle, I would ask for a room that let's you see your car out the window.

Clean and new! Staff friendly and helpful! Local takeaways for food! Shuttle to airport. It is a good hotel for transferring between airports and needing an overnight stop but not a hotel for a holiday per se. They have a free continental breakfast which was good, but a bit strange is this roomies in the basement. Beware also as it is next to airport people come and go all times of night and some families are incredibly noisy.

This hotel I selected as it did not appear too old and worn and also had a free shuttle bus. This is not a great area of NY and it is certainly not walking distance to JFK with a heavy suitcase. But with an early morning flight, you need to be close. We actually caught the train out to JFK and got them to pick us up, which was very prompt and efficient. We were checked in speedily and as I unexpectedly had a friend they changed the room to be appropriate (2 doubles) with no issue.
They then organised the shuttle for the next morning and although mine was sadly at 0430 the shuttle bus was ready and waiting when I got downstairs. The rooms are clean and adequate and considering the planes flying I did not hear one....

This hotel is adequate, clean and the personnel very friendly.

Room Tip: I don't think it matters.

I would have never stayed here without input from the Trip Advisor community. The hotel is super clean, the staff are super helpful, and if you absolutely have to stay in this part of the world this Sleep Inn is a really great option. Parking is limited but they seem to monitor it closely and it is well lit and fenced. The only drawback is the size of the rooms but if you are staying here it is probably not for leisure anyways.
PS there is a great pizza place that delivers, I forgot the name but there are menus in the lobby.

Not a great hotel, but fine for a night. The main reason I have written a fairly bad review is because they charged my personal credit card without issuing an invoice or providing any services.

The amount was only $3.26, but with no indication of what for. There was no minibar, fridge, safe or restaurant where I could incur a cost. Hotels should not get away with charging additional 'fees'.

The communal areas (reception / corridors / lift) are quite run down and had a fairly strong smell - but the rooms were much nicer and the online photos are quite representative.

Stayed here for a 1 night layover on our way back from Europe to New Mexico. The hotel options in the JFK area are so overpriced it's crazy. Sleep Inn was one of the more affordable options at a crazy price. We paid $173 for what felt like a $73 room - that's just the situation around JFK and not a reflection of the hotel itself.

Staff where friendly and professional and we appreciated the shuttle service to and from the airport.

Our problem was with the cleanliness of the room. It just felt dirty. There were dirty marks / stains (of what we didn't care to imagine!) on everything - curtains, towels, pillows, etc. We were that tired after traveling from Switzerland the same day, that we just passed out anyway.

On any other day, I would have requested a refund or a different room (they were fully booked so that wouldn't have happened) but I didn't have the strength to deal with it.

Maybe we just got a bad room - who knows.

Room Tip: If you are using the shuttle service from JFK to the hotel. Make your way over to Federal Circle on...
