everything was great from checkin to departure i could not need anything more, this will be my hotel when in new york. tonesha and emaline were great also other who stood out to me were krystal and ivy, the staff were extremely friendly i felt like i was staying with friends

Well Tripadvisor has finally let me down. I never would have brought my family here. Looks more like a youth hostel than a hotel. Traveling youth everywhere! No problem with the kids but the place is just a mess. Real dirty carpets and food on the floor everywhere. No air conditioning in the corridor of our floor. Who cared about the room after seeing this stuff.

I chose this hotel because we drove in from PA and had an early flight in the morning. Key feature was hotel parking! We checked in quickly and efficiently. Given a room on the 12th floor. The hallways were weirdly warm and our room was hot and stuffy when we arrived. Thermostat read 82 degrees, the air was off. We quickly switched the air on and it took several minutes before the air began coming in cool. The entire overnight the room never cooled lower than 76 degrees. The room was clean, but the floors in the lobby were sticky dirty as was the floor in the elevator.

We returned our rental car to JFK airport after check in and took the shuttle back to the hotel & took the 6 am shuttle back to the airport in the morning. Shuttle driver was helpful with the luggage. I would return if the AC was fixed!!

We came in from the airport (duh, right?) and we were beat. The shuttle driver (Richard) was excellent - he gave us great info on where to eat so late, what the shuttle service in the morning would look like, and how to find everything we needed - despite the incredibly rude family also riding with us. Richard was unfailingly polite and helpful. When we got to the hotel, the front desk staff was fast, efficient, and friendly. When I was ready to go get some food, the security staff pointed the way for me to the restaurant Richard had recommended. In the morning, the front desk staff was again incredibly friendly and helpful.

The room itself was unremarkable - standard mid-range hotel. What bumps this review from average to very good is the service.

As hotels in this category, I found it good enough for a day stay between connecting flights. The plusses were the complimentary shuttle service, wifi, and breakfast. The desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The fact that Hampton Inn was attached to the Hilton provide restaurant service and food after a long day of flying and airport and airline food. No significant minuses to speak of except for the non-airconditioned floor hallways.

We arrived at Hampton Inn NY-JFK and found that everyone, from the bus driver of the free shuttle, to the staff at the desk, to the breakfast staff, to those that were available as we checked in, were very welcoming and eager to make our stay a pleasant one. We were a group of 21 so things were hectic, but we quickly settled into our clean and comfortable rooms, then came down and asked for information on getting to a nearby casino. They quickly arranged cabs for us and we were on our way. Their every half hour shuttle was supposed to take us to the airport in between their scheduled trips, but with traffic and many people wanted to leave the hotel, the shuttle ended taking all of us plus others. But that was fine as we were able to load and board first, then were dropped off as a group at the airport.
Mishalla was extra nice and patient in giving us directions to catch the shuttle, and for her, everything was possible and she followed through with all our requests. A big Mahalo to Hampton Inn NY-JFK for taking care of us with professionalism and warmth.

This was a very comfortable, clean hotel and reasonably priced. The shuttle service makes it easy to get to JFK and they run every 30 minutes. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a shuttle. There is access to the Hilton restaurant next door which makes it convenient to get a bite even if you have a late arrival. Would definitely recommend for layovers at JFK.
