We stayed on Labor Day evening in order to visit Ithaca College the next morning and drive up through Canada.

The hotel is centrally located in Ithaca, right across the street from an outdoor central "commons" which is a pedestrian only street in the middle of Ithaca. It is full of trendy shops, bookstores and some restaurants. The downside to the location is the parking - you have to park in a public parking lot a couple of blocks away and go through the ticket stamping routine.

The room was nice and non-smoking/two beds as requested. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely consider this hotel again if Ithaca figures more in our future.

We spent one night here, on the way to Toronto and would highly recommend this hotel for it's location and reasonable rates... The hot tub is superb...probably the best we've ever been in.....the room was spotless and the staff was very helpful....The breakfast deal was okay...but, since you are right by the commons...you can do better just walking one block from the hotel...If you are looking for dinner...try the Lost Dog Cafe, just a block away...we had the best meal of our vacation and I'd go out of my way just to eat there again...it's that good......

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night in July. It is nicely located across the street from the Commons and the parking garage. You can park in the garage for free if you are staying at the hotel and have your ticket stamped. You can pull in to the front enterance of the hotel to check in and bring in your bags. We were only staying one night, but I imagine that it would be a little challenging unloading and loading and then parking the car if you were by yourself or had lots of luggage. The hotel itself has a Starbucks and Kilpatricks, an Irish pub which had a band, a breakfast cafe and small snack area on the premises which are all accessable from the hotel lobby. The lobby also has a room with a fireplace and chairs and coffee availale. We had booked a King bed but when we checked in we were told that none was available. So they put us in a room with 2 beds but it was designed for someone handicapped so the bathroom and bedroom/living areas were oversized. Comfortable beds though!! Nice views of the lake and area, also. Proximity to the Commons is great as there are several places to eat, drink, shop and even had a concert the night we visited.
Pleasant and enjoyable stay overall.

This hotel is not as nice as most Hilton Garden Inns. The room was OK and was nice and clean, but the common areas were not well maintained. Lobby floors were dirty and stained in areas and the pool area was not clean. Also the outside entrance was not attractive and welcoming and needed some cleaning. The breakfast was good and the staff were very nice and accommodating. Management just needs to get on the ball with the overall appearance of the common areas, and this could be a much nicer hotel, as are other Hilton Garden Inns.

Ithaca is not known for its luxury hotels and our first choice is usually the Statler but it was sold out...depending on your expectations, this is an okay choice in a town of okay, 3-star or less hotels. While the room was clean and large enough, there were problems with the bathroom...toilet kept running. Service was adequate but do not expect luxury on any level. That being said, the package price of $166/night included a full breakfast and parking was free so, for the price, it was fine. They do have a pool but it was not open when we were there which was too bad. The breakfast service was a little sloppy...the buffet area was not very well kept and the self serve waffle maker was a disaster and honestly a little gross. They do cook to order eggs but have already prepared pancakes, bacon, etc...good coffee! Overall I usually avoid these types of hotels but really had no choice so it was fine for the price. I would only stay there again if I could not get a room at the Statler. Best thing? Starbucks in the lobby and the location...and the staff was certainly friendly.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in July, 2007 while attending an event at Ithaca College. Room is clean, good size. Our room had a small fridge and microwave which was convenient. Free wireless internet, with no hassles of hotel passwords, etc. Hotel overall is clean. Did not eat in the restaurant or have the breakfast (we had other plans). Ample free parking available in a city garage right across the street. The hotel is one block from the Commons. Only a few minutes drive to the colleges, Pyramid mall or other activities. Staff friendly and helpful. Exercise room had 4 machines and they were modern and in good shape. Pool was closed for service while we were there. Would stay here again.
