Beautiful campus, lot of exercise climbing hills, promising education for the students. Very proud and happy that my grandaughter is going to such a great and loving school.

This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful college campuses in the USA! Yes, it is out in the middle of nowhere, but it is worth it! The campus, the academic level, the professors, the atmosphere... It is a great school!!

Our stay at the world renowned Statler Hotel on campus was a wonderful experience. This luxury hotel which is part of the university's School of Hotel Management and Administration provided an excellent example of a student run organization with attention to customer satisfaction.

Unless you must have an urban environment or hate walking up and down hills, Cornell University has it all! From nanotechnology (imagine, a maze one cell wide, to study the movement of white blood cells!) and animal science (yes, there is a cow with a "window" into it's stomach) to hotel management to architecture and fine arts, there is something for just about everyone seeking a higher education! The faculty are very interesting - at a reception this past weekend we were chatting with a professor who was studying how flies can move so easily in 3D space by shaving the little hairs off their "shoulders" and another, who's son is an archaeologist studying a new group of native Americans discovered in upstate New York.

They have an on-campus plantation which supplies some of the dining facilities, and have a ton of "green" initiatives going on as well (hubby insists that Harvard dining hall food is as-good, but I think his memory is not the best...). And, the city of Ithaca is always interesting - you can still find folks that look a lot like Jerry Garcia making flower garlands for each other, and it's actually quite easy to find vegetarian/vegan-friendly restaurants, brew-pubs, wineries, and other fun places to eat/drink. The sports facilities are very nice - even a natural rock climbing wall and an entire building for the wrestling team!

Even if you do not have a kid considering Cornell for college, just walking around the campus, throwing some rocks on the musical roof, going to the Johnson Art museum, catching a soccer or hockey game, or stopping for ice cream at the Dairy Bar (scheduled to re-open this fall, once renovations are done), it's a nice place to enjoy a nice fall (or spring or summer or even winter -if you don't mind the cold!) day!
