Visited Mahogany Grill in early August 2014 for our Anniversary dinner. Servers were pleasant and attentive. We sat outside on at the sidewalk seating under the restaurant front canopy. Was a little cool for an August evening but the radiant heaters kept it comfortable. After looking at menu and being informed about the specials, my wife decided to order the surf and turf special, which consisted of a NY strip steak, cold water lobster tail potatoes, veggies and salad. I ordered a day boat scallop appetizer as my meal along with a bowl of french onion soup. All the food was delicious and well done and presented. I ate a significant portion of my wife's steak and some lobster as it was too much for her to finish. It was when we got the bill was the only negative part of the night. The surf and turf special was priced at $59! Now most of the steaks and fillet type entrees on the menu were around $25-30 each so would have assumed the surf and turf would be around maybe $40-45 or so. But $59! That's like ordering two entrees for one person! Since I had ordered only an appetizer or bill wasn't as high as it could have been and we didnt complain much because we never asked any prices, although none were offered. If they had told us the prices of the specials we would have ordered from the menu. Come on Mahogany Grill! As good as the food was, no surf and turf special is worth $60 a plate! If you are planning on robbing customers then at least give them a little warning and let them know special prices before they order.
