We were in Ithaca for an event and needed a place for dinner. Ithaca has lots of restaurants. We were interested in seafood and had previously been to the Boatyard Grill for lunch on a previous trip. So, we decided to try it. A call ahead gave us a place in line with an arrival window. We opted to arrive 20 minutes early and were seated after a short wait at the time we initially hoped to be seated. When you arrive they provide you with an electronic device that signals when your table is ready. This is apparently a very popular place so calling ahead is important. There is ample parking, but some of it is a distance from the restaurant - but a little golf cart shuttle makes the rounds to help folks. We lucked out and found an open spot very near the entrance. The setting is lovely, right on the very end of the lake. At times there are parallel activities, some outside under a tent. So, even though there may be a wedding reception under a tent, the restaurant continues to function normally and can keep up with the demands. We were greeted in a friendly way and our server was very good, responsive, prompt and attentive.
We opted for Asian Ahi Tuna and it was suggested medium rare. We ordered that and it came as ordered and was quite good. We also ordered Honey-soy Salmon and it arrived properly cooked and was quite good. House salads were added to each meal at a low price and these were fresh, crispy with reasonable blue cheese dressing on the side. Baked potato was not available. The wine list is reasonable and there are many options by the glass. We each had one glass and ended the dinner with decaf. The total was $65 before the tip and tax, which we thought quite reasonable for what we got.
We will return.
