We stayed in the "Gable Room" at Michael's wonderful hotel sadly for just a single night, I say sadly because the entire experience from first minute to last was amazing.

The hotel itself is set a little off the beaten track in the very heart of around a hundred acres of woods but was easy to find thanks to the directions that were provided by Michael prior to our arrival. Upon arrival Michael greeted us personally, in spite of the snow that had just begun to fall. This was just the beginning of the wonderfully attentive service that was offered to us throughout our short stay, and continued with Michael asking us what we would like for breakfast, to him personally heading out in the snow to collect the groceries that were required to meet our request (in the snow that had continued to fall, and had become heavier throughout the evening), to freshly squeezing the orange juice in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble, even when we asked if Michael could change the time that we had agreed to come to the main house for breakfast after oversleeping in the quiet, tranquil and comfortable surroundings, it was no problem at all.

The room itself was beautiful, in the upstairs of a renovated outbuilding with an open bathroom, full freestanding bathtub, separate shower, and even a bidet. The bedroom was large and spacious with plenty of space for hanging clothes, drawers and an incredibly comfortable bed. There was also a separate kitchen area downstairs that was shared with guests staying in the "Zebra Room" with all of the utensils required to cook a feast.

All in all the whole experience was absolutely first class and one that we have recommended to friends and family already, and very much look forward to repeating.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon, and decided to take a random road trip out East! (We are from Michigan) We ventured through Buffalo, and started to look up a neat place to stay for the end of our week... We found Private Hotel online and knew it was going to be amazing just by the photos.

When arriving Michael was very warm, and showed us around immediately! We were stunned with the gorgeous Cabin/Gables Room we stayed in! It was the most beautiful place! Cozy bedroom, gorgeous HUGE shower, and lovely tub for baths! The view was breathtaking, and the privacy made for a perfect honeymoon experience! We also took advantage of the amazing outdoor hot tub and sauna! So beautiful with the snow falling down.

Michael made us the BEST breakfast each morning, catered to our favorite breakfast foods. His cooking is phenomenal! He also gave wonderful suggestions as to some daytime/nighttime activities in town as we were not familiar with the area. We dined at restaurants he suggested, and even went to a museum he suggested. Michael defiantly knew the best places to see/go! My husband and I already decided if we ever head back out this way, staying at the Private Hotel is a MUST! You will not be let down.

Room Tip: The Gables room was amazing!

We just spent 2 nights at Casper's Farm - with our family, we had the "Barn House". It is a beautiful space, with high ceilings, a roaring fire and a view of the surrounding woods. We saw deer in the yard and after a recent snowfall the place looked like a postcard. We can't say enough about the quality of the accommodation which was excellent and the food is the crowning glory. Michael and Siobahn are incredibly gracious hosts, attentive to our needs, helpful with making reservations and providing advice for siteseeing in the area. We were able to relax and really enjoy ourselves and are already thinking about which weekends we can go back next year.

This place is so lovely, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The grounds cover hundreds of acres and have many amazing views. The cabin we stayed in was luxurious and cozy. But the best thing about Private Hotel + Pure Food is Michael and Shioban (sp?). They are very friendly and go to great lengths to add a personal touch and make you feel right at home. Also, giant plus that Michael is an excellent chef and offered to cook up anything we wanted for breakfast. He made the best eggs benedict I have ever had! I cannot wait to see the place in the spring. If in Ithaca, definitely stay here!

Room Tip: Gables room is gorgeous and serene.

Well what can I say…

Casper’s farm private Hotel + Pure food is rated #1 in the Ithaca area for a good reason.
The unique setting and architecture of the main house is amazing. Attention to detail and eclectic décor is spot on. We stayed in the Blue Room and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. The large bathroom and claw foot tub was a welcome treat after a full day hiking the trails of Ithaca.
The proprietor, Michael Casper was welcoming and pleasant and even made reservations for us at a great local Italian bistro.
We will defiantly be returning for another stay in the near future.

A word to future guests, Please don’t be shy when he asks you what you want for breakfast. He takes great pride in fresh ingratiates and will make you a breakfast worth getting up for. Order Up !

After working seven months straight without having anytime off, we were so glad we chose this place, it was just what we needed. We stayed in the gable room which was very large but still nice and cozy. We loved the peace and quiet & got much needed rest . Michael the owner made sure you had everything you needed , breakfast was delicious with fresh mixed berries & fresh squeezed orange juice along with are main breakfast. You could definitely tell he had put a lot of work and thought into this place. We will definitely return in the future.

Room Tip: We looked at all the rooms when we were there and they are all beautiful and each one is different...

After spending two separate weekends at Caspar Farm recently, my husband and I feel right at home and will return. The accomodations are cozy and just quirky enough to spark conversation around the breakfast table, often shared with the property's other guests. The drive to/from Ithaca is scenic and short and the breakfasts are delicious and expansive! We look forward to our next trip.

Room Tip: Be sure to book early!
