This is one of the nicest places i've been to. The grounds are not only beautiful, they exude peace and serenity. Kudos to Michael Caspar for creating a simply perfect environment. It is off the beaten path to be sure, but not hard to get to and well worth the extra 10 minute drive from downtown Ithaca. Michael cooked for us. He and staff Catherine created a personalized dinner which was all fresh local produce and just wonderful. They were attentive to all our needs, even setting up meetings at Cornell for us. This place pays so much attention to detail, from the beautifully furnished rooms to the comfortable mattress to the wonderful menu to the groundskeeping and personal concierge service. Do yourself a favor and have the pleasure of staying with Michael. We will certainly be back.

My husband & I stayed at Michael's beautiful home away from home for Ithaca's College Family Weekend, which also happened to be our 25th wedding weekend! We (thankfully) booked in August and were thrilled when we arrived to check in. The grounds are expansive and include acres that are available for long, romantic walks. We stayed in the Red Room, which has a large, amazing bathroom adjoining the sleeping area. The bed, linens and black-out curtains are so comfortable and allow for a quiet, dark, peaceful night's rest. The shower is fun with double shower heads/body spray heads, one on each side of this 6 foot wide beautifully tiled shower area. There is no ledge/step up entry into this shower, the entry is flush with the bathroom floor & is separated from the rest of the bath area by a shower curtain.
The kitchen Michael prepares the guest breakfast in is filled with appliances that meet the exceptional needs of this owner-chef and his lovely, friendly staff. We especially loved the herbs, wheatgrass, etc being grown for use in meals prepared by Michael. We were impressed how Michael was actually teaching the staff about the process of making the meals he prepared, as well as actually delivering the food in a beautiful presentation. BTW, please bring your imagination and ask Michael to make you something for breakfast you've always wanted to try! He will rise to the occasion and I have a distinct feeling he actually cherishes the challenge! You will not be sorry and it will create a very special memory.
We truly enjoyed our breakfast each morning around a very large, square dining table in the Great Room surrounded by an eclectic mix of Michael's history, the friendly staff and guests. Everyone immediately jumped right into engaging, fun conversations. We had to force ourselves to leave the table, and only because we had to meet our daughter at Ithaca for a family weekend scheduled event.
In the evening when Michael was around the conversation was very interesting with all the stories Michael shared with us. Michael, thank you for making us feel instantly at home. We made sure we took advantage of the outdoor hot tub AND wonderful sauna, jumping out of one & into the other before we retired for the evening in our cozy room. Nobody around at that point so it was very quiet gazing at the stars and we just turned everything off as we went back into the house. Wonderful!
I just cannot say enough about the beautiful vista views from the back of the house as we woke up every day. Breathtaking!
Well, I could keep going with so many more details as to why this place is so special, but suffice it to say that it is special because Michael works very hard to make each person comfortable and exceed expectations, in his incredibly laid back, gracious way.

We attended Ithaca College's Parents weekend 2013 and stayed here for two night. Accommodations were excellent. Michael has transformed the farm to be a serene and peaceful experience. The breakfast prepared by him and his staff was superb! It's not your typical B&B which made it special. We definitely would return again to support this locally owned and independently operated establishment. Two thumbs up!

My husband and I just returned from a delightful weekend at this hotel. We were celebrating our 7th anniversary and wanted to stay at a very special place, and we were not dissappointed! Nestled in the woods but easily accessible to all that the area has to offer, this hotel boasts extraordinary buildings, beautiful accommodations, gorgeous scenery, warm hospitality, and exceptional food. We will definitely be back. Thanks Michael!

Magnificent views. Lovely accommodations. Michael and his staff were warm and engaging. Breakfasts were truly delicious. Loved the chit chat around the table. A great place to de-stress and enjoy the surroundings. Very convenient to Cornell. Will definitely return.

No lace here. Just exotic wood lined rooms, beautiful views ,dinosaur fossils and Buddhist inscriptions. Michael cooks up a great breakfast along with his staff. The big barn Breakfast Room is the place in the country that you wished you owned. About 10 minutes from Ithaca college.

We just came back from a delightful weekend at Michael Caspers' Private Hotel/Pure Food. It is a little gem tucked away an easy 10 minute drive from Ithaca. We were up for IC parents weekend and it is a perfect place to stay for a bit of privacy, stunning views and warm, genuine hospitality.. The rooms were beautifully appointed and the breakfast is second to none in Ithaca!! We will definitely be back . Thanks to Michael and his staff for a lovely fall weekend.
