“Around each bend there are beautiful new sights.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

It's a nice walk - up hill on steep steps for about half an hour or so to the top of the falls - lots of waterfalls that keep coming - sparkling pools and great rock formations along the trail. But it's not for the elderly who can't climb stairs or go down steep hills. You will need good walking/hiking/running shoes! totally worth the walk.

“Second Trip to Finger Lakes in New York State”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

The Finger Lake area of New York state is really beautiful in the fall. The hills were all in color and the countryside is such a serene place to visit. Our first adventure of the day was to the Buttermilk Falls State Park. We started at the bottom of the main falls and walked up several stairs over a half mile climb up, some of the steps were a little worn out so had to be careful when climbing up, some were pretty steep but that made for a good excuse to stop to rest and take in the beauty of the river/falls gorge, it is worth the climb for the beautiful scenery with so many small waterfalls and pools up to the top of the gorge. We took the easy route back to the car on a nice path through the woods.

“Nice and rather steep”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2013

We had been walking several trials in other state parks the same day, so the stairs from the parking area up the Gorge Trail next to the water, were rather hard to take; At the end of the day!
However it was really beauteful. At the buttom there was a possibility to swim in the water from the fall. Did not try that, but several other did, and it looked like evrybody were enjoying it.

“Quick and breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2013

It was quick and breathtaking and it quickly took my breath away as I hike up the first half of the falls! It doesn't take very long if you are in good health and is the perfect morning hike. The falls are absolutely beautiful and I even snuck in a few yoga poses!

“Pretty”

The weather was perfect for a walk along the falls. The water was clear and we wished we'd taken a picnic.
