“Fall Beauty”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

The finger lakes make for a wonderful driving vacation in late September. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Geneva for two night and the Hampton Inn Ithica for one. Both were OK and reasonably priced but I recommend the B&B's on the lakes and visits to the dozens of wineries. Tastings are generally $2-$3 dollars and most afford a great view of the lake and the time to share another bottle. Leaves were already into their change by 23 Sept.

“Best of the Finger Lakes”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

Great views, great history, and non stop activities. I live in Canandaigua and still find Cayuga to be the best.

Sure was a site to see. Wished we could have stayed longer so as to explore the lake area and all it has to offer.

“Enjoyable walk”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

I had a nice walk around part of Cayuga lake with my daughter, near Alan Treman Park. Perfect day, lovely lake views, would be great for a picnic.

“Cayuga Lake very swimmable”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

I'd like to update the information in SingingOwl's post. The lake is quite swimmable -- Myers Park in Lansing, where I swim, Taughannock State Park and other state parks as one moves further north. Many rental properties have swimming and boating from their docks. The only swimming restriction due to the fight against hydrilla is for one day and then only in the area where the herbicide is actually used. It is not used in the lake. It has been used in Cayuga Inlet - where one not want to swim due to boat traffic. You can learn more than you want to know about hydrilla at StopHydrilla.org
